#1 Pitaya by juicecode

One of our favourite cafes in Penang, Pitaya by juicecode isn’t exactly new-new, but a venture relocated to Chulia Street with a brand new concept and menu. Their new Balinese-themed interior will remind you of the hot summer at a beach. Their cold-pressed juices and smoothies are out-of-this-world, with no added water and sugar in it. Bring your camera along as the every corner of the cafe screams Instagrammable.

#2 TEMU

A new kid on the block, TEMU literally has just opened up their doors less than a week ago. “Temu” your friends with a cup of coffee and cakes at this minimalist cafe that has a modern rustic vibe. Currently, their menu is quite small, do give them a little time as they’re still experimenting with a lot of stuff.

#3 STAIRS The World

Coffee aficionado might be familiar with the name “STAIRS.” In fact, some might have already visited STAIRS Specialty Coffee tucked above Tastes 5 cafe. If you love their artisanal coffee, good news! They’re opening up a second outlet, and probably the largest in Malaysia. Rumour has it that they’re opening very soon, at Tropicana 218 Macalister, so stay tuned.

#4 Lele Bakery

Lele Bakery is the brainchild of one of our favourite cafes in Penang, Le Cafe. After years of serving some of the best sandwiches in town, they’re finally opening up a small scale bakery next door! Lele Bakery is opening their doors on 12 December 2020 at 12 p.m. sharp, with a variety of breads to offer in small quantities. If you love their breads, pre-orders are available too, so hit pay them a visit and hit them up.

#5 65c Ondo Bakery Cafe

65c Ondo Bakery is yet another new bakery cafes in Penang, and probably the most Instagrammable one by far. Featuring earth-tone elements like rattan chairs and wooden decors, this place has a is perfect for photo-taking. They offer a plethora of Japanese-inspired bakes and treats, including their bestselling Japanese Shokupan bread.

#6 Boston Coffee

A fairly new cafe with an industrial-like interior, their layout is pretty straightforward, just like their menu. A cozy spot for meals, this place is great to bring your family along or for small gatherings. Boston Coffee is currently still under soft launch, so do expect a smaller menu for now.

#7 Fatkidz Patisserie

If you’re looking for delicate pastries with high quality ingredients and presentation, look no further than Fatkidz Patisserie. Don’t be fooled by their underwhelming exterior as they offer a plethora of French pastries, some infused with local flavors, you’ll be spoilt for choices. Christmas is just around the corner and they’ve rolled out a selection of Christmas treats, so hit them up for this holiday celebration.

#8 Holy Crabs

Not exactly a cafe, but their crabs are so good we had to feature them, plus it’s new. Nestled in Lebuh Tye Sin is where you’ll find Holy Crabs, offering big, fat and juicy crabs in an honest price. Their crabs are pawned upon orders and cooked in the simplest way to fully preserve the freshness and juice. Holy Crabs’ crabs weighs an average of 500-600g each and best part it, you can order through delivery.

#9 Craftisan Cafe @ Wellings Mansion

If you’re looking for some good desserts especially handcrafted ice cream, look no further than Craftisan Cafe. They’ve just relocated to a brand new space, in Wellings Mansion, which is also a new concept store. With an open cafe concept painted in Jade green, unwind in the afternoon with some coffee and desserts here.
