1. Charcoal Char Koay Teow @ Bee Hooi

The 73-year-old uncle known for frying Char Koay Teow with his goggles and mask serves one of the best plate in Penang! A “fiery” stall you cannot miss while driving past Pulau Tikus, a plate of Char Koay Teow that comes with giant prawns will cost you RM9. Find parking nearby, hop on down and order away!

The hot plate of rice is topped with Chinese sausage, chicken, mushroom, egg and scallion. Priced at RM6.80 for the regular portion (comes with egg), this sure is a good all-in-one dinner option!

4. Piknik

One of the longest standing cafes in Penang, Piknik offers its customers a cosy, chill environment serving satisfying dishes from kimchi pork bulgogi fried rice, chicken katsu to savoury waffles showered with ice cream and strawberry sauce. Launching their new menu this conditional movement control order (MCO) season, they are now open for dine-in and takeaway for meals priced from RM15 to RM18.
