The bustling food court serves all kinds of local delicacies, and that naturally translate to comfort food. Some of their bestselling stalls include pork rice, tomyam noodles, hor fun, koay teow th’ng, and tai lok mee. If you are feeling economical, you can have yourself a plate of economy rice too! But, ya’ll know what’s good here already, right?

Despite the price inflation everywhere, this uncle stays true with the pricing of items because you can buy a piece of fried wan tan for only RM 0.10 and wan tan mee for RM 3.00. What a deal! The uncle behind the store believes that good food should be shared with the world, hence, the cheap price! Due to the cheap price, everything here is self-service, so take your food!

Nasi Melayu Lidiana has been churning out amazing nasi Melayu for a few years. The reasonably priced eatery has more than 30 dishes for you to choose from. There are honey chicken, fried chicken, ayam masak kicap, sambal udang, ikan goreng, and many more! It gets a little crowded during lunch hour, worry not, because there are ample parking.

Viva Local Food Haven is the biggest food court in Tanjong Bungah. You can find a lot of local delicacies right here like char koay teow, laksa, satay, belacan fried chicken, and everything else in between. If you are broke and you want to eat Japanese food, you can have it here too! There’s a hawker selling Japanese food and you can find sushi, bento, and even raw salmon. Unfortunately, this place only opens for dinner time. You can have early dinner after class right here!

6. Ah Soon Cafe

Ah Soon Cafe is a favourite among many people. This coffee shop serves local delicacies and they are known for their char koay teow and koay teow th’ng. Why is their char koay teow one of the best in Penang? That’s because they are cooked over charcoal, giving it a little extra kick! Some other things you need to try here is their roti bakar, they are perfect for breakfast and snacking. Pair it together with their strong local coffee to kick-start your day!

Rezeki Tomyam is a simple Thai Muslim eatery. The eatery located next to main road serves rice and side dishes. The friendly cafe has many bestsellers include thosai, chapati, roti canai, roti jala, fried noodle, chicken curry, grilled fish, and grilled chicken. Apart from that, they have a variety of vegetarian options, too! It is a certainly a must-visit once a month!

If you are feeling a little bit under the weather and you’re looking for comfort food, they have super tasty fish soup bee hoon here too! They have a variety of freshly made baos, perfect if you are feeling hungry and you don’t have time to stop by for lunch, you can just do takeaways!

Tanjong Bungah Market has been churning out reasonably prices and tasty local delicacies before we were all born. Some of their offerings include really good asam laksa, loh mee, hokkien mee, and even chee cheong fun. On Tuesday nights, there’s a night market here too! The night market has a lot of stalls such as pizzas, tong shuis, and fried chicken. What a treat!
