Penang Foodie spent 4 days 3 night at Bangkok, Thailand. Of course, we hunt a lot of foods there. We had an awesome trip there (more to come hopefully). As you know, Bangkok is also a shopping paradise beside great food. Thus, we did lot of shopping, enjoyed negotiate with merchants, ate a lot of delicious foods, done sightseeing, and we did a temporary tattoo. A truly memorable trip.
2019 Updated Guide: 25 Street Food In Bangkok
During our food hunt journey, we visited a themed restaurant, dessert cafe, street foods and many more. These foods literally stole our heart. We can’t wait to revisit Bangkok again, just for the foods. We hope this Bangkok food blog treats you well and as a references for your next Bangkok trip. Thanks us later! Now, a flashback to our BKK journey yo! #PenangFoodieAtBKK
1.) The Rome Restaurant Bangkok
The Rome Restaurant is a Rome themed restaurant located at Petchkasem Road. It’s an open air Rome style restaurant where you can dine al-fresco. This place is beautiful and gorgeous, isn’t? The restaurant has some seats located in the middle of the pool, but it’s just for reservation guests only. A gentle reminder, if you want to dine in the middle of the pool, make a reservation first. One last tip: Don’t leave without visiting their toilet, #MemangAtas.
A little drawback of Rome Restaurant is it’s located pretty far from the city, we took 1 hour ride (1000 bath) from our hotel. Friendly reminder: book a taxi ( two-ways). However, it’s really worth the trek!

In case you don’t know, Som Tam refers to Thai cuisine’s mainstay – papaya salad. There are four kind of papaya to choose from, and we chose Somtam with Dry Shrimp and Peanut (75 bath). We also Ordered Northwest Style Spicy Soup with Pork Bone, this is for hot and spicy hunter. Lemongrass Pork (98 bath), Fried Chicken (115 bath), Sticky Rice and Steam Rice (25 bath) each. Dining here is so comfortable, and the foods were really authentic and worth a thumb up.

Needless to say, treat yourself a Matcha plus Vanila Charcoal Soft Serve after a long day shopping is a must! We love how the soft serve presented, it’s super Instagram-worthy! The cone is filled up with cornflakes at the bottom, so it is crunch and full of happiness till the very end!

5.) Ban Khun Mae Restaurant
At Ban Khun Mae, you can enjoy authentic Thai cuisine with laid-back atmosphere. Ban Khun Mae is a great place to visit if you are trying famous Thai dishes for the first time. Food was promptly brought onto the table in okay-to-shared portions. Starting from left (clockwise): Baked Rice in Pineapple, Pad Thai, Tom Yum Kung, Stir-Fried Chicken with Cashew Nut and lastly Steam Seafood Curry Paste Filled in Coconut in the middle.
Nothing beats a bowl of Crispy Water Chestnut in Coconut Milk with Ice after a fulfilling meal. This is highly recommended!

There’s a saying “You’ve not been to Bangkok till you try the legendary coconut ice cream”. Furthermore, it is a great way to combat the blistering JJ Market heat. And guess what? The complimentary coconut water is pretty tasty too.

7.) After You
After You might not be something new to you guys if are a frequent traveler to BKK. This is my first visit and it literally stole my heart. They serve sinfully good bingsu and Shibuya Toast. Seriously, I’m not a toast person, but After You really impressed me! I will confirm plus chop visit After You again!

This humble dessert cafe does its bingsu differently to most. Inspired by Korean neighborhood shops in Korea, the Korean-Thai couple who own it roll out homemade dessert in Bangkok and win the heart of us.

10.) Yaowarat Chinatown
Yaowarat Chinatown – we love the vibe there, so happening and with lots of good foods there. We personally loved the legendary toast bread and bird’s nest.
Look at the enthusiastic crowds. Yaowarat Toasted Bread is always seen with a long queue, patronized by both locals and tourists. What make us felt in love with this gem was its crispy buttered toast on the outside and fluffy on the inside. What makes it even more delicious is its filling, so delicious!
You rarely get to see bird’s nest everywhere in Penang, but it’s different story here.
11.) 7 Eleven – Bangkok
My buddy, HS kept raving about how nice 7 Eleven’s foods and snacks are. Certainly, we didn’t disappoint. I think 7 Eleven is a great spot for you to grab to quick bite before you commuting to next destination. The food is pretty cheap and super delicious. We tried Ham and Cheese Toasties, Hot Dog, Banana Milk and Collagen. *finger-crossed
12.) Thai Milk Tea – Cha Yen
I’m that kind of No Tea No Life person. That being said, Bangkok is a paradise to me, because I get to drink Thai Milk Tea. We drink Cha Yen everyday during our BKK trip. #BestThingEver! I love how Thai Milk Tea tastes, its tea aroma is stronger and fragrance. Aww! I miss it so much!
13.) Mango Sticky Rice
I love the right sweetness and juiciness the mangoes give. What a perfect match with sticky rice.
