#1 Teppei Syokudo

Teppei Syokudo is owned by the renowned yet humble owner . Won numerous award for his passion and work, including the latest 2017 MICHELIN Guide Singapore Bib Gourmand Award. Chef Teppei has opened multiple successful Japanese dining concepts. Their dons are one of the bestsellers here, if you haven’t tried, please do so as they’re having a new menu soon. And yes, you’ll get to meet Chef Yamashita Teppei himself on the 20-22 April, check out this event for more info.

#2 EMBERS Asian Grill

Embers is a fully-flamed and fired-up Asian interpretation of the classic All-American Steakhouse. Experience great BBQ experience of glowing coal with slow roasts and smokey meats. Heavy uses of herbs, marinades, condiments and accompanying sauces that are typically found in Asian kitchens. It’s like East meets West, which we bet is only available here in The Saw Emporium Penang. We told you this place is full of surprises.

Established in 2011 by 5 cousins in search of better beers, Taps Beer Bar is a pure craft beer bar with the widest range of craft beers in Malaysia. Claimed the Bar Awards 2017 Best Beer Bar Winners title, Taps offers a variety of craft beers from all over the world, each is one-of-a-kind, with different flavours and brews to try out. Taking over Wham as of 4th of April, Pho Viet is a Vietnamese restaurant founded in 2016. Since then, it has won the hearts of locals by serving authentic Vietnamese cuisines. They stand firm on using only honest and fresh ingredients, with no MSG or preservatives added at all. If you’re a fan of Vietnamese food, you would definitely fall in love with Pho Viet.

People nowadays are very health-conscious, they’re aware of what’s going into their system. Qwenchers is the best drinks to pair with your meal. Why? Because they only use fresh ingredients such as fruits and vegetables. Their smoothies are so good, order one and you’ll know what we’re talking about. The multi-beverage concept bar even have special homemade recipes, definitely a winner.

#8 Live Music

The Saw Emporium Penang welcomes Friday with live music by popular local mini-band comprising charismatic singers and talented musicians such as Wedding in Charlie and the Lemongrass Duo to the Swallow Stage in the Godowns. This only happens every Friday night from 9 p.m. to midnight, so don’t forget to mark that down. We heard a lot of praises for Charlie that you’ll get eargasm, so be sure to check them out on Fridays.

 

#9 The Place Itself (You Kidding Me?)

No we kid you not, the building itself has stories to tell. The Saw Emporium Penang was a former saw mill on Macallum Road located within the 7 Streets Precinct in Georgetown, Penang. The founder saw opportunities and didn’t want it to left abandoned, therefore Swallow is born. The elements of the saw mill could still be found, with added modern concepts and elements to it. First of, it’s very Instagrammable. Second, the food is great and the ambiance is on point, you could just chill all day here.

#10 Upcoming Exciting Events That Will Feast Your Belly

You heard it right, The Saw Emporium Penang has a few exciting events coming up this month of April. First off, PIFF 2018 Crispy Fryday, happening on the 20th of April. For those of you who didn’t know, PIFF stands for Penang International Food Festival. Crispy Fryday has all the good fried, oily belly good food that you crave for all the time.

Secondly, Omakase + Appreciate Takeover x Swallow. The KL-based Speakeasy Omakase + Appreciate is taking over the DaVinci Gourmet Cocktail Bar from 20 to 22 April 2018. Mixologists will showcase classic and special cocktails all weekend, it’s time to party hard !

Also mentioned above, Chef Teppei Yamashita will appear at the Saw Emporium during the same weekend as well. You get to try out his new menu ahead of others.

Pssss: Now that you know how happening The Saw Emporium Penang is, don’t forget to jio your family, friends, girlfriend, boyfriend or whoever you’re comfortable with.
