Tucked in Lebuh Gereja, Norm Micro Roastery is the latest minimalist cafe on the island. The absolutely spacious cafe is packed with various types of potted plants. Walled up with white painted exposed bricks, Norm Micro Roastery is beautifully furnished with long cemented benches. Part coffee roaster and part cafe, the smell of freshly roasted coffee beans linger in the vicinity.

2. Reve

Surrounded by thousands of dangling flowers, it is no wonder Reve takes the second spot on the list. Newly opened in the last quarter of 2019, this enchanting spot serves one of a kind plated desserts. Located at Lebuh King, it is hard to miss Reve as it has floor to ceiling windows. Strike a pose while sitting on the swinging chairs, or next to the flower pillar. A must-visit for Instagram enthusiasts!

3. Me & U Dessert

Taking over Starbucks’ spot in Sunrise Tower is none other than Me & U Dessert. Serving more than 15 types of desserts using a conveyor belt, this is the only spot in Penang with this serving style. It is delightfully Instagram-worthy with marbled tables, with matching dessert plates. Of course, the plated desserts are equally beautifully made. Desserts, anyone?

Complete with wooden furniture, and potted plants, Kafka exudes a comfortable ambiance with a touch of class. On the stretch of Beach Street, lies a patisserie that makes the perfect hand-rolled croissant. Meet Le Petit Four, a pastry cafe with Prussian blue front with tasteful gold framings and fonts. On the inside, there is a nice long bar counter complete with wooden pastry case, and bar stools at one end. You will love everything about this airy space. Specialising in handmade cakes, expect to find unique flavours such as Watermelon Cake, Tofu Cheesecake, Coffee Lychee and more. The reason Matcho Cafe is Insta worthy is that it has a full-on pink interior with a splash of green here and there, creating tropical Hawaiian vibes. When it comes to the menu here, you’ll be spoiled for choice as it ranges from smoothie bowls to burnt cheesecake, to pocket toasts and not forgetting really good coffee. Established less than a year ago, 262 坊 is a cafe that houses 5 different concepts including Forest Bottle cafe, Botanica florist, Plan C patisserie, Kota Express as well as Moon Shop Gallery Forest. 262 坊 is considered one of the few Instaworthy cafes in Penang to visit in 2020 because it resembles a glasshouse with full-on natural lighting everywhere.  Also, the entire cafe boasts a minimalist concept with a monochromatic white interior.

Foodies must have already heard of Lavish Fusion Bakery, a bakery established back in 2016. Lavish Fusion Bakery specialises in artisanal pastries and was the very first to introduce cronuts, a mash-up between croissant and doughnut. Now, they’ve revamped the entire place, making Lavish Community even more Instaworthy. Now a community cafe, it features fusion food and dessert with local-chic mix element. The renewed tropical vibes definitely make this cafe well-deserved of a post on your Instagram.

Located in a rather secluded location at Pulau Tikus, 吹水铺 96backlane takes us down memory lane and is truly nostalgic as the decor is heavily inspired by the province of Nanyang, China. There’s plenty of neon lights here, coupled with olden Chinese calendar wallpaper is what makes this cafe Instaworthy.
