Penang is no doubt a beautiful island with the perfect blend of culture, heritage, and modernity. The state government is taking great efforts to make the island a better place to stay as time passes. The northeastern seafront along Weld Quay Penang will soon see an upgrade with exceptional facilities like restaurants by the sea, e-sports arena, and more by 2023.
Weld Quay Penang Will Soon See World-Class Facilities By 2023:
Penang Port Commission (PPC) chairman Datuk Tan Teik Cheng has recently signed a lease agreement with MPDT Capital Berhad to redevelop Warehouses Five, Seven, and Eight and part of Tanjung City Marina within the next two years.
With an investment o RM120 million, the project dubbed ‘MPDT 1880 Heritage Reborn’ is in line with the ‘Experience Penang’ campaign. Once complete, the seafront along Weld Quay Penang will welcome F&B outlets by the sea, an e-sports arena, a flight simulator training centre, along other entertainment and recreational facilities.
We’re really looking forward to the 5,000 sq ft restaurants above the sea as a foodie! Besides that, the flight simulator training centre certified by Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia will occupy a vast 46,000sq ft to house Level-D Full Flight Simulators and Level Two Flight Training Devices.
There’ll also be a photography studio, event studio, co-working space, and many more attractions. Tan said that the project is will take between 18 and 24 months to complete. Meaning to say if all goes well, we’ll get to meet a brand new Weld Quay Penang by 2023.
