Urban Daybreak is an artisan cafe located in the heart of George Town Penang that newly opened in May. The road has longed been bustling with a cafe scene with Book Sandwich Cafe, Ice Estate and China House, Urban Daybreak is another great addition to the street.
Inspired by the Australian breakfast and brunch styles, Urban Daybreak spearheads the culture there with an unique awesome twist.
Penang Foodie thinks that you should visit them this month, JUNE!
EXTERIOR
Urban Daybreak’s exterior might be inconspicuous or rather not easily accessible. Fret not, we’ll be putting the address location down below. You are advised to search Urban Daybreak on Waze or Google Maps.
INTERIOR
Lucky us! Happen to see one of its staff decorating its wall with painting, giving an artistic touch to its ambiance. We were in love with the its interior vibe, especially the seat we sat, natural sunlight gladden the cafe. It’s definitely a great spot for you to take a cool #instafood photo.

Urban Daybreak’s ambiance is cozy, warm and simple. The wall is painted with Tiffany blue wall and hanged with red window on the right. One of the disadvantages is the cafe’s space, it’s rather small, not recommended for group gathering.
Urban Daybreak is an open kitchen concept. You can literally smell the cooking in this cafe.
FOOD
Urban Daybreak serves breakfast and brunch only, they called it “All Day Glory”, from 7.30 am – 3.pm daily except Tuesday. Call them breakfast & brunch master!
ANN’s BIG ONE – RM25.50, it’s truly big, just as its name sounds. Attention! This is really something to-die-for, we love it! It was made up of my favourite breakfast wants. It comes with toast, eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, mushroom, spinash, baked beans, tomatoes and salad. All is well served!
We would like to give a big shout out to their homemade pork sausage, 100/100!. Also, the poached egg was cooked perfectly, tomatoes were juicy and sweet. Another thing we liked was its rosemary potatoes and mushroom. The idea of putting spinach was legit too! One word: awesome!
SUCH A GOOD WAFFLE – RM 18.50. The fried egg’s taste was kinda special, salty and has pepper kick at the back. The waffle was soft and fragrant, combos with baked beans and gammon ham, superb!
LATTE – RM9. The latte, taste wise was just an okay to us. However, its latte art was beautiful, almost looks too pretty to drink.
IN SHORT
Strike while the iron is hot. If you are looking for new breakfast and brunch spot, this is the place to be. Everything was great over here. One of the drawbacks could be their operating hours (7.30am-3.00pm only). So, plan your schedule ahead to avoid disappointment.
