Top 5 New Things to Try in Penang This Week
1. And Arabica
There’s a lot of coffee in Penang, but don’t settle for anything but the best. Here’s a new place to get the most from your caffeine high. And Arabica, a new coffee shop in Malaysia which is bringing coffee to new heights is finally opened in Queensbay Mall! Serving quality coffee at an affordable price, their coffees are lavish and indulgent- a great excuse to slow down and treat yourself, along with a rich slice of cake.

2. HB Noodle House 豐味麵館
Penang Curry Mee has managed to capture the hearts and stomachs of both Penangites and tourists over the years, and here’s a new noodle spot serving super authentic white curry mee in Penang! This dish is very inviting in its own way and once it’s inside, you can feel like your pores are benefiting as well as your stomach.
Their soup base is made from a combination of curry and coconut milk, without any MSG added, and they’ve got an assortment of toppings and sauces which are likely to suit everyone’s likings. To gaze upon their sooting bowl of simmering broth is a panacea for life problems.

Operating Hours: 7.00am- 3.30pm daily
3. Long Time Ago 很久苡前- 羊肉串
Penang is home to some seriously smoking barbecue joints, who love to take things slow with a bit of flaming peril to liven things up. If you’ve smelt the tantalising waft of bbq mutton grilling Gurney Paragon, chances are it was Long Time Ago.
Cooked slowly using a charcoal grill, their lamb, chicken and pork burnt ends are fully flavoured to your spice preferences. In fact, diners praise the family-friendly restaurant’s cosy, casual vibe, and attentive service.
Address: Lot 163-G-01, Gurney Paragon Mall, Persiaran Gurney, 10250 Penang, Malaysia.
Operating Hours: 12.00pm- 10.00pm daily
4. Cupid Dupid
Here’s a new pastry spot peddling the kinds of confections people dream about and is vowed to satisfy every size of sweet tooth- Cupid Dupid. We love how unpretentious everything is here- folks throw on their nice pair of jeans, or pairs of good earrings to indulge in their pastries. It’s also the perfect spot for breakfast as you can pick up freshly baked baguettes and flaky buttery croissants.
Address: 9 , Jalan Phuah Hin Leong, Penang, Malaysia
Operating Hours: 11.00am-7.00pm (Closed on Monday)
5. M Mamak
It would be weird for Penangites not being in love with our local Mamak stalls. This new Mamak place we’re about to share ain’t your typical Mamak stall. Set in a goldish interior with Turkish wooden furniture, everything’s fancy at M Mamak. However, don’t let their expensive-looking interior fool you, they serve their dishes at a super affordable price! Lunch tends to be lively, evenings are more sophisticated.
Address: M Mall, Jalan Dato Keramat, 10150 George Town, Pulau Pinang
Operating Hours: 24 hours
