One of the new and unique places to eat at Karpal Singh Drive Penang, it’s quite impossible to not notice Hero Pot. Bright lights, lanterns and glass walls that could look through inside from the outside hooks public’s attention. There’s even terracotta sculptures that resembles the Qin dynasty. You get Sze Chuan influenced dishes and of course, the Sze Chuan hotpot that locals love. Servers in traditional Chinese outfit will greet you and shout “heroes are coming.”

Coffee lovers, if you haven’t tried Arabica Estate, then you’re missing out. They’re known for serving really good coffee and the passion they pour in for their beans. Their mains are also well presented and here you can have the privacy you want. The lounge has private rooms for you to hold functions, you can sip a glass of wine while playing monopoly. The Chinese name itself is a direct transalation of nasi lemak, which is very cheeky and unique. Spicy Lemak’s signature nasi lemak comes with three different coloured rice that uses natural dye. The portion is really filling and please order their chicken set, it’s their signature. The chicken is so crispy and well-marinated, every bite is so juicy and flavourful. The best thing about their nasi lemak is the sambal. They are so rich in belacan and super spicy, it’s like the best sambal ever ! Can’t get enough of Korean stuff even after a bbq session with your chingus? Head down to Bingsu 9 for a good bowl of shaved ice. The place and menu might be small but their bingsu is a thumbs up. Bingsu 9 is so generous with their toppings sometimes it might overflow a little. Plus they’re quite healthy as well, (mostly fruits) it’s the best way to balance out your heavy meal. Order their signature and thank us later, their cheesecake is DAMN GOOD.

#9 Drop Top Cafe
Three Korean related eateries in a row. Drop Top is a Korean-franchise brand that gained fame in Korea and expanded its to other part of Asia. Penang is one of them and their menu has a touch of Korean. This is not a place for dinner, but rather a chill out spot for desserts and drinks. Their signature items would be the Sweet Potato Latte and Maple Honey Toast. Their other sweet delicacies also look really appealing, they’re too pretty to indulge in.

#10 Nona Bali
It’s so hard to find Balinese food here in Penang and luckily we have Nona Bali. Their menu is pretty extensive and we must say we are wowed. A lot we are unfamiliar with and they look super interesting. Nona Bali mixes with flavors and ingredients, you’ll be surprised, they’re oddly delicious. The owner is very welcoming and friendly, he’ll walk around to ask whether customers are happy with the food. Their dishes are all MSG free so you’ll get authentic flavors here.
