If you are looking for something a little more spicy, you need to try the tomyam here! Lai Hoe Tomyam is one of the best places to eat tomyam in the island. It is topped with mint leaves for an extra kick.

3. Super Tanker Food Court
Super Tanker is a massive food center and it houses more than 20 hawker stalls. You can find everything you possibly need to fix your local food cravings here from hokkien mee, jawa mee, laksa, chicken rice, chee cheong fun, and many more! It is one of the best places to visit with your friends if you can’t decided what to eat! Oh, and the parking is not that bad too.

Kedai Kopi Bobo is on the same stretch. However, you might missed Kedai Kopi Bobo because it is a little tucked in. They serve curry mee, wanton mee, chee cheong fun, jawa mee, apom, and koay teow th’ng. The popular dish in the coffee shop is hokkien mee! You need to wait for more than 30 minutes to get a bowl. But, is it worth the wait? Yes, yes it is!

5. Restaurant Lip Sin Red Tea Trading
Want some dim sum? The nearest place you can get dim sum is here! Restaurant Lip Sin Red Tea Trading is located in the same building as Sunshine Lip Sin. This wallet-friendly restaurant serves all kind of dim sum, from steamed to fried. Siew mai, har gou, prawn fritters, and everything else. If you are looking for something a little heavy, they have noodles made-to-order too!

Finally, some Japanese food on the list! Sushi Edo is probably one of the cheapest places for sushi in the entire Penang! For red plates, there’s salmon, ebi, and more! Want something more? There’s salad, bento, and noodles too!

Looking for something colourful for the ‘gram? You need to head down to Koo Boo Cafe! They serve Nasi 7 Benua, that’s seven different types of rice in total. There’s green, white, yellow, red, and colourful. Not only it is pretty, it tastes special too. Each rice ball tastes different from one to another. Choose your favourite dishes such as fish, chicken, vegetable, and curry to pair with rainbow rice!

If you are looking for something spicy but you’re not up for tomyam, you can try the laksa here instead! Some people say that this is one of the best place to eat laksa in Penang. The broth is very thick, and favourful with mint, and herbs. Order poh piah, and pair it with laksa. Feeling too hot? You can order a bowl of chendol too. Sounds like a dream!

Time for some nasi campur! Cargas Cafe offers some amazinf nasi campur. Ya know, rice with side dishes. They have a lot of dishes to choose from different types of curry, vegetables, and meat. They are best known for their fried chicken. The super crispy, and crunchy fried chicken made it all the way to the newspapers. Be careful though, as it gets really crowded sometimes!

Amex is the place to get your Mexican food fix! The reasonably priced cafe sells tacos, burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, and more.
