
Looks like we will have a new mode of transportation in store for Penang! Rapid Penang is launching double-decker bus services starting this 1st February 2022. Said to be able to carry up to 108 people at a time, the bus will positively complement Penang’s newest transportation system.
Rapid Penang Double Decker Bus Will Begin Operation Starting 1 Feb 2022
According to Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd spokesperson, the double-decker bus will operate on Route 301; Weld Quay Bus Terminal – Relau and Route 302; Weld Quay Bus Terminal – Batu Maung. Given that both of the routes have high passenger demand and require transportation with higher capacity.

“This double-decker bus is able to carry up to 108 passengers at a time. Moreover, to have a bus with universal access concept will be able to cater to the demand of certain areas.” He said in a statement.
Hoping To Attract More Users In The Future

He also said that they are hoping to attract more people to use the Rapid Penang Bus service in the future. Additionally, passangers can also use the PULSE application to keep a tab on the latest information regarding the Rapid Bus service. Honestly, it can be a tremendous help especially when you are planning your trips around Penang. The app can be downloaded from Google Play and App Store.
