Can you imagine how excited we are when we found out that there is going to be a nightclub right here in Penang with Alice in Wonderland’s theme? We are so excited we are going to introduce to you Rabbit’s Tale with so many Alice in Wonderland references! Can’t stop, won’t stop!

Tea time is over! Make way for the newest nightclub in Penang, Rabbit’s Tale. Lewis Carroll once said, “If you don’t know where you are going, then any road can take you there”. Lucky for you, we know the location of Rabbit’s Tale! The new and swanky nightclub made Pengkalan Weld their home. Another great gem to make Georgetown happy, and lively at night!
Sometimes, we have believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast. And, one of it was pulling off an Alice in Wonderland theme in Penang. It definitely sounds extremely tricky and impossible. The team behind Rabbit’s Tale didn’t let us down because the interior is amazing. We have gotten a little sneak peek and we will show you! It looks like the movies!
We’re All Mad Here. I’m Mad. You’re Mad.
1. “Drink Me” Not Included
At Rabbit’s Tale, they have doors shape like a keyhole and it is the most amazing thing you will see! You don’t need to drink anything and you can fit right in. To be honest, if somebody drinks one too many, it will be funny to see them panicking as they go through the door thinking that they have turned tiny. The doors are great for photographs as they have different sizes, perfect for optical illusion photographs.
2. Why Is A Raven Like A Writing Desk?
Live in the pages of Lewis Carroll! There is a private room in Rabbit’s Tale with upside down chess set, and walls plastered with his words and illustrations by Sir John Tenniel’s illustrations. A dining set that fits six people sits in the middle of the magical yet dark private room. It is great for grand celebrations with friends! Also, can you let us know if the white or black pieces of the chess set are winning? We need to know.
3. Find The Caterpillar
The space is decorated with mushrooms of all shapes and sizes. Some are for decorations, and some serve as chairs and tables! We are very sure that they are recreating the scene when Alice stumbled upon a caterpillar smoking something on a mushroom. We believe that the mushrooms are very fitting considering that Rabbit ‘s Tale is a nightclub, after all.
4. Tea Party Forever
Seating area is decorated with clocks dangling from the ceiling. It is a nod to the White Rabbit, who was running late to Wonderland. The large space is filled with chairs of all colours and shapes, which serves as a nod to Mad Hatter’s iconic tea party. By the way, the chairs look extremely squishy, and comfortable, something that everyone will love!
5. Now You See Me, Now You Don’t.
We are so thrilled because there is a huge mural of Cheshire cat on their wall! He deserves all the murals in the world because he is the best character in Alice in Wonderland. Always appearing at the right time! The mural is strategically placed on a dark wall, so you might just miss it if you’re not paying enough attention. Don’t you think it will be a good spot for the ‘gram?
Time For Some Tunes!
A swanky place needs some good tunes as well! Rabbit’s Tale will be featuring amazing DJs throughout the month of December! They will kick off with DJ Ramsey Westwood on the 22nd December, Christmas Eve with Tiger Ming, DJ Reeve on the 29th December, and New Year’s Eve with Tiana! Let’s All Dive In The Rabbit Hole
Can’t wait to go mad in Wonderland? Good news! You don’t have to wait until the end of the month to start celebrating. Heineken Live Your Music will be happening on the 14th December, and it will be featuring DJ Dyro. And if that’s not a good date for you, go for their soft launch on the 15th December. Party begins at 10 o’clock, so don’t be late like the White Rabbit!
