Over the past few weeks, there have been several public places that were shut down due to positive COVID-19 cases. These places are closed for a period of time to carry out sanitization works. Earlier this morning, the Perak Road Market has been shut down by the health authorities.
Perak Road Market Closed From Today Onwards
The closure is due to 5 positive COVID-19 cases among the market traders, all reported within this week. Hence the market has to be closed until further notice for close contact tracing and sanitization works.
However, the hawker stalls and TPS nearby the market are allowed to remain open. Additionally, all market traders operating at Perak Road Market are to submit their personal information to the authorities.
