Penang Yosakoi Parade Is The Biggest In Malaysia
Yes, you haven’t read it wrong when we say this is the biggest Yosakoi event in Malaysia. Well, it could actually be the biggest Yosakoi street event in the whole of Southeast Asia! With up to 1000 parade participants and attracting more than 10,000 people every year, shall we take a look at what they have to offer this year?
Yosakoi, which literally means ‘Come at Night’ is a unique dance style that originates from Japan. It combines traditional Japanese dance movements with modern music and is performed in festivals all over the country. Needless to say, it is essentially the main highlight of the Penang Yosakoi Parade. So make sure to keep an eye on these lively dances that are performed by school and dance groups!
Moreover, there’s going to be more than 8 kinds of activities for you to participate in! Ready? Here’s the list of things you can do. Join their Olympic Parade, Japanese Carnival Games, Mizukake Mikoshi, Artisan Craft Bazaar, Charity Sales, Open Picnic International Food, Cosplayers and a Fun Run! It’s a long list, right?
