Penang Ranked in ’11 Best Islands for Retirement Abroad’

Good day foodies, how’s everyone doing? Let’s start the day off with some good news! As a Penangite, we always take pride in our island, and we celebrate when there’s an achievement. Penang has recently been crowned as one of the best islands for retirement abroad by International Living, a site that writes about global retirement and relocation. Our Chief Minister, Chow Kon Yeow even reposted it on his Facebook.

Penang Listed in ’11 Best Islands for Retirement Abroad’

Earlier yesterday, Chow Kon Yeow updated his Facebook with a post that goes “Penang is proud to be named alongside 10 other best islands for retirement abroad! (ThinkAdvisor; Nov 24, 2020)” What an achievement, and we Penangites couldn’t be prouder than that!

The other islands that were included in the list were Isla Colon in Bali, Koh Samui in Thailand, Mallorca in Spain, Ambergris Caye in Belize, Roatan in Honduras, Ireland, Isla Mujeres in Mexico, Las Terrenas in Dominican Republic and Malta.

A caption of Penang written in an article by Thinkadvisor reads ” As Penang is located in the Southeast Asia, residents can easily reach other destinations in the region as well as Australia and New Zealand.

It is also mentioned that a couple can live well in the island with a monthly budget of USD1,500-2,500.
