We’re already Day 4 into MCO 2.0 and how are you guys coping? Well, according to the live conference held by MKN yesterday evening, there were some revised SOPs regarding recreational activities.
Penang’s Public Parks Will Be Closed From Today Onwards
Firstly, jogging is only allowed in neighbourhood parks for up to 2 people. As for cycling, this activity is only allowed to be carried out alone within a 10km radius from one’s home.
In line with this new SOP, Penang youth and sports committee chairman Soon Lip Chee said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 14) that the state will take heed of the order from National Security Council and close ALL public parks in the state.
This will include Youth Park, Metropolitan Park, Botanic Gardens, Mengkuan Dam, Telok Bahang Dam, Air Itam Dam as well as Bukit Dumbar Park. These public parks will be closed from today onwards (15th January 2021).
Let’s All Do Our Part To Flatten The Curve
Additionally, a kind reminder that during MCO, aside from jogging and cycling, all other forms of activities are prohibited. We all have the responsibility to flatten to curve so let us all do our part.
