This just in, Penangites. MCO 3.0 will be enforced in Penang starting from 10th May 2021 onwards. With this, it will be our state’s 3rd implementation of the Movement Control Order. 3 districts and 3 zones will be under MCO in Penang.
MCO 3.0 In Penang Starting From 10th May
The 3 districts are Timur Laut, Seberang Perai Tengah and Seberang Perai Selatan. Also, the 3 zones are Mukim 12, Bandar Butterworth and Mukim 14. This will be effective starting 10th May to 23rd May 2021.
Days ago, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and several districts in Johor have been implemented the MCO for a span of 2 weeks. For states under MCO, no dine-in is allowed and an inter-district ban will also be imposed. Check out the full SOPs for MCO here.
Without a doubt, the number of COVID-19 cases in Penang has been on the surge lately. Just 2 days ago, Penang recorded a staggering 305 new cases and 313 cases, respectively. To date Penang has recorded more than 2,600 cases in the past 2 weeks since April 23rd.
