Just one day ago, Penang is (once again) humbly included in the ‘World’s 30 Best City for Street Food’. Reading the title alone makes us feel overwhelmed with pride, right?
Penang Holds A Rank In ‘World’s 30 Best City For Street Food’
So, wait. Who exactly listed Penang in this list? Well, have you ever heard of Mirror? Mirror is a news site based all the way in United Kingdom. Their news article entitled World’s best city for street food and the top dishes you’ll want to try, included a list of 30 best cities alongside the street food in those cities that no one can miss out on.
Curious who championed this list? It’s none other than Hong Kong, followed by Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh. Though we may have not made it to Top 3, but we’re still in this list! In fact, Penang is ranked #17 taking over major street food cities like Taipei, Taiwan and also Tokyo, Japan! Oh, did we say we were also ahead of these cities: Honolulu, Hawaii and also New York City? Seriously, we’re brimming with so much pride right now.
Certainly, our beloved Penang has gotta make it into the list because come on, we have Char Koay Teow, Laksa, Curry Mee, Roti Canai and the list goes on. Without a doubt, Penang is a humble island/city that is guaranteed to leave every tourist with a happy tummy. Our food is just that good right?
So once again, today marks a proud day for Penang and fellow Penangites, though several days ago we were all dazed and confused by the haze. But hey, take a look around you today and the sky’s starting to clear up right? And now, there are two more proud reasons in calling yourself ‘Penang Lang’.
