Hey hey! We got really juicy news right here for ya’ll, we’ve just found out that recently a Penang-based Illustrator has become one of the selected few across the globe to create art for the popular Netflix series, Stranger Things. We as Penangites, couldn’t have been prouder and happier for the lucky artist!
Here’s how she got the deal.
Leading up to her sealing the deal, Lyn-Hui has been creating arts for the series, Stranger Things out of her own passion for the past 2 years. You can find more of her artworks on her Instagram right here. Here a few masterpieces from her that we really love!
In February, she received an email from Netflix and apparently, they noticed the Stranger Things fan art she has been creating over the past two years on her Instagram and Behance portfolio. She was given a golden chance to commission a poster based on an episode of Stranger Things as part of Netflix’s #StrangerRewind project which involved 18 other artists from all over the world. Putting her own spin to the episode, Lyn’s artwork was shared with the world!
Revealing the masterpiece – Trick or Treat, Freak episode of Season Two!
Lyn’s poster was posted onto Stranger Things’ official Facebook and Instagram accounts, alongside artwork from other well-known artists like Brazilian cartoonist Mauricio de Sousa and Ricardo Siri Liniers. This is totally a dream come true for Lyn and we’re super duper happy for her!

Can you imagine Eleven with a Malaysian makeover?
Imagine no more because Lyn has delivered – Eleven’s complete makeover with familiar food from Malaysia like flying durian, nasi lemak and also karipap. Kinda cute, ain’t it!
