Hello guys! We’re now in the season of Ramadan and while our Muslim friends are fasting throughout the day, we need to admit that Ramadan Bazaar is always the highlight. Since we’re now in the MCO and Ramadan Bazaar isn’t going to take place this year, shall we figure out how to make the best of this? With that said, here’s a simple way to make Murtabak using Popiah skin!
Mini Murtabak Just Like The Ones In Ramadan Bazaar
Let’s all admit this fact: we miss the fun that comes while visiting Ramadan Bazaar. Something about the atmosphere and mingling among other food enthusiasts, perhaps. Of course, food such as Lemang, Murtabak is another factor that makes it all the better. So, if you miss Ramadan Bazaar food, here’s a Murtabak recipe that you can recreate whilst at home. Let’s get started!
Ingredients
- Popiah skin
- Minced chicken (or preferred meat options)
- 3 potatoes (diced)
- 3 tbsp of curry powder
- 1 clove of white onion
- 3 large onions (chopped)
- Green onion
- Parsley
- 2 eggs
- Sugar
- Salt
Murtabak Fillings
Step 1: Fry chopped onions till fragrant then add in curry powder and water
Step 2: Then, add in minced chicken and potato. Add in water until it reaches the same level as the ingredient (adding too much water will cause the filling to be over-tender)
Step 3: Add in sugar and salt until it suits your preferred taste
Murtabak Wrap with Popiah Skin
Step 1: Crack 2 eggs, add some salt and beat till even.
Step 2: Add in the fillings into the egg mixture then add in parsley and mix until even
Step 3: Wrap fillings with popiah skin then insert oil into the pan and fry until it turns golden brown
