TL: DR
- Travel had been limited to not more than 10km of residence
- You can only travel alone unless it is reasonably necessary.
- Gatherings are strictly forbidden
As Malaysia is walking towards the second phase of MCO, the government decided that they need to get a bit more stern. We are all aware that even though most people are doing great with the #stayhome campaign, some can get a bit too bull-headed. According to a new federal gazette on the MCO, travel has been limited to not more than 10km of residence.
Travel Not More Than 10km Until The End Of MCO
This regulation will be effective starting from April 1st – April 14th. In addition, the 10km radius applies to anyone who is moving to buy/ supply/ deliver food, necessities, medicine, and dietary supplements. It will also apply to anyone who is seeking healthcare / medical services, performing an official duty or going to perform duty in relation to essential services.
Do know that you can’t be accompanied by another person during travel unless it is very reasonably necessary. If you have a special or particular reason to travel further than 10km, you have to get written permission from the nearest police station beforehand. Meanwhile, any form of gathering, be it for religious, sports, recreational, social or even for cultural purposes is strictly forbidden. However, minimum attendance will be allowed in a gathering for funeral ceremonies.
We Are Doing Great
Let’s try not to oppose the regulations okay? Opposing the regulations or direction of the director-general or authorized officer is considered as committing an offense. You will be liable to a fine not more than RM1000 or imprisonment, not more than 6 months or both. It won’t be long now friends. If we all behave, the MCO will end sooner than we think.
