Hey there friends! As Penangites, we’re all true foodies at heart. This means that we are all willing to travel some distance so long as we get to fill our tummy with good food. We’re pretty sure most Penangites have, at one point, travelled down to Ipoh for a weekend food trip. If you have, then we bring you good news! Ipoh’s famous beancurd stall, Woong Kee will be bringing its melt-in-your-mouth Tau Fu Fa all the way to Penang! Hooray!
Woong Kee Traditional Beancurd Is Coming To Penang Soon
Originating from Ipoh, the land of delicious Tau Fu Fa is Woong Kee Traditional Beancurd that has always been locals’ favourite. In fact, if you’re ever here, you’ll know that there’s constantly a snaking queue by foodies looking to taste the silky-smooth Tau Fu Fa.
Woong Kee Beancurd serves classic Tau Fu Fa as well as with additional toppings like sesame, crushed peanuts, glutinous rice balls, grass jelly, and more. In addition, Woong Kee Beancurd is also renowned for serving Butterfly Pea Syrup Tau Fu Fa which is both unique and pleasing to our eyes.
So, to find out that they are bringing their silky smooth Tau Fu Fa all the way to Penang, the very first outlet will be opening at Penang Road. Expected to soft launch by end of October and to officially open in November, this is one surefire way to end 2020 on a sweet note.
So Ready For This
On a scale of 1-10, how excited are you guys for this? It’s time to say hello to enjoying Tau Fu Fa with a unique twist. We’re super stoked for this so foodies, mark your calendar!

This is not the original Woong Kee beancurd that used to be so popular. The original shop has moved into a bigger shop close by and changed their trade name to Big Mom Beancurd. This current Woong Kee has one of the worst beancurd in Ipoh. Please compare the two. I think a lot of residents in Ipoh knows about this.
