Hello, friends! This year, IKEA has opened its first outlet in northern region, and fourth outlet in Malaysia at Batu Kawan. Naturally, many Penangites were very excited about its opening and that translates to really long queues! Not only people drop by to buy affordable furniture, but people drop by to have a bite on its famous and delicious meatballs. Here’s another good reason to visit IKEA today!
Malaysia’s Very First IKEA Bakery

That’s right! There are more treats waiting for us at IKEA Batu Kawan. Apart from its IKEA Restaurant, and Swedish Food Market, it is adding something new. The Swedish furniture store located at Batu Kawan will be housing the one and only IKEA Bakery within Malaysia. Now, you can get Swedish baked goods. We are talking about cinnamon buns, baguettes, sourdough bread, cranberry pecan bread, and more!

Of course, there are going to be some local-inspired flavours as well. You will need to try out its creation, banana gula melaka danish! We have a feeling that the pastry is going to work really well as a dessert as it is sweet and crunchy. Rest assured that these baked goods are all freshly made every hour. More than 200 baked goods will be available on weekdays, and 500 on the weekends.
Now Open In Batu Kawan

If you love eating baked goods, don’t miss out on trying out some of IKEA Bakery’s offerings. Additionally, head down to IKEA Restaurant to try out the latest dishes including Spicy Chicken Ball, and Salted Egg Chicken Wings. These dishes are available for a limited time only, so hurry up! We are excited that IKEA Bakery is now open in Penang. Are you?
