We’re sure as Penangites, you would’ve already heard of PARKROYAL. Housed within this 5-star resort is an authentic Italian restaurant, Gustoso headed by Chef Mario from Sardinia, Italy.

Here at Gustoso, there’s a contemporary dining area with a vibrant ambience, air-conditioned rooms as well as romantic seats at the deck that overlooks the sandy beach and sea. Pizza Regina Margherita
The very first Italian fare that we tried at Gustoso is the Pizza Regina Margherita. For this dish, Chef Mario prepares the pizza dough from scratch and we even witnessed a showcase of tossing the pizza dough up in the air. With a simple base of tomato sauce, imported buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil, and a crunchy crust, this dish is the definition of simplicity at its finest.
Gnocchi Di Patate Con Granchio, Mascarpone E Pistacchio
Next up, this gnocchi dish is Chef Mario’s signature dish that’s freshly prepared from scratch. This dish consists of handmade potato gnocchi with crab meat, cream of mascarpone cheese & pistachio.
Ravioli Di Pollo Ai Funghi Porcini
Shall we keep the pasta train rolling? Ravioli means ‘to stuff’ and the Ravioli Di Pollo Ai Funghi Porcini at Gustoso is handmade with a thin layer of pasta stuffed to the edge with corn-fed chicken, porcini mushrooms and finished with a mushroom cream sauce. Simply delicious and one of the restaurant’s most popular dishes.
Roselline Di Pasta
Roselline Di Pasta shown here is made by hand and resembles a rose. This dish has sliced imported cured smoked turkey and cheese intricately rolled between layers of pasta and served on a bed of Mario’s San Marzano sauce made with imported tomatoes. With a slightly crispy texture, this is one pasta dish that one can devour on its own entirely.
Zuppetta Ai Frutti Di Mare
To tone things down a little, opt for the Zuppetta Ai Frutti Di Mare, essentially a mixed seafood soup “Sardinia” style. The soup is appetizing and comes loaded with a collection of fresh seafood and 2 slices of crispy garlic bread. Definitely a great beginning to a hearty Italian meal and highly recommended by the Resorts’ GM.
Risotto Ai Porcini E Parmigiano
If you’re a fan of Risotto, then you should check out Gustoso’s Risotto Ai Porcini E Parmigiano. It’s a plate of beautifully executed classic risotto with porcini mushrooms and to top it all of, 24-months aged Parmigiano cheese. You’ll know this is a high-quality plate of Risotto from the creaminess of the risotto and the way it pairs well with the cheese.
Branzino Al Forno
Fancy something different aside from pasta? Gustoso also serves fresh seafood, one of them is the Branzino Al Forno which is roasted whole sea bass served with fennel, olives, sweet orange & mixed garden salad.
Trio Di Dolci Dello Chef
There’s nothing like ending our meal with a sweet treat. If you’re uncertain which dessert to go for, opt for Chef Mario’s signature Trio Di Dolci that comes with three types of handcrafted desserts. There’s classic Italian Tiramisu as well as the smooth Pannacotta that instantly melts in your mouth and a delicious handmade Cannoli.

Then, next up is the Vellutata Ai Funghi Di Bosco which is truffle scented creamy wild mushroom soup served with toasted herb and mushroom bread.
Filetto Di Branzino Or Pollo Alla Caponata
For main course, choose between Filetto Di Branzino (grilled seabass fillet served with fennel, olives, sweet orange & mixed garden salad), Pollo Alla Caponata (Oven-baked chicken breast with vegetable stew in tomato herbs) or one of the other of Chef Mario’s weekly special items added to the set menu.
Delizia Al Cioccolato Or Biancomangiare
