One of Penang’s most-awaited Penang’s festivals, the George Town Festival (GTF) and George Town Heritage Celebrations (GTHC) are doing a Discovery Walk where you can witness the beautiful George Town old streets, distinctive architecture and more!

Penang is definitely an ideal place for a discovery walk. It is where merchants landed their anchors after sailing from faraway lands to make fortunes. While being here, they brought their languages, customs and traditions along. Over time, the state evolved into a melting pot of cultures. Hence, the old streets, historical buildings, distinctive architecture and world-famous street arts are heavily influenced by a blend of both eastern and western cultures.
This 7th July 2022, to celebrate George Town UNESCO Heritage Day, George Town Festival (GTF) and George Town Heritage Celebrations (GTHC) are doing a Discovery Walk for us to learn, appreciate and cherish our multicultural heritage and the vibrant state of Penang together. During this 5km Discovery Walk that starts from the historic Beach Street, prepare yourself to discover both familiar and never-before-seen scenes of Penang! Not only you’ll get up close to the city’s key landmarks but also its famous street arts!
