foodpanda has partnered with the Penang Halal International to launch a Ramadhan E-Bazaar in the state. Penang Halal International is a subsidiary of state owned entity, Penang Development Corporation. As the country enters the 3rd phase of the Movement Control Order and social distancing is highly encouraged, foodpanda wants to ensure Penangites can still order in their Ramadhan favourites while helping Halal compliant businesses to reach their customers.
The culture of the Ramadan Bazaars has always been something locals look forward to as the Holy Month draws near. Now more than ever, foodpanda wants to encourage Penangites to stay home and stay safe while still being able to enjoy their much loved Buka Puasa delicacies.
“Penang State under the initiative of Penang Halal International continues to support the business community by collaborative effort and teaming up with industry expert, foodpanda to support the business community depending on Ramadan with innovative solutions. Penang consumers will be served with special delivery platform despite challenges and the ongoing Movement Control Order,” YAB Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang.
“In line with our ‘Next Normal Penang Strategy’, I also hope that through the foodpanda platform, we will be able to encourage more of the Halal business community to use this window of opportunity to fully embrace the future of business in a technology-driven world,” he added

The Ramadan E-Bazaar partnership between Penang Halal International and foodpanda will go live early Ramadan. Customers can find participating businesses by selecting the dedicated swimlane on the platform to order from a variety of local vendors.
