While the number of new cases in Penang is on the rise, our state is also ramping up on vaccination. Starting today, the 18th of August, there will be one more industrial vaccination in Penang. It will be over at Design Village, Batu Kawan.
Design Village Batu Kawan Transforms Into A PPV Centre For Retailers
Together with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA) and Covid Immunisation Task Force (CITF), Design Village will be one of the industrial vaccination centers.
It will only be open for employees in the retail industry who has registered under the Retail Industry Vaccination (RiVAC) Programme. Do note that this center is not open for those with MySejahtera appointments nor walk-ins.
With this new vaccination center in Penang, Design Village will be administering two doses of SINOVAC to a total of 4000 retailers. It will be open for first dose vaccination (from 18th to 22nd August) and for second dose vaccination (from 18th to 22nd September).
Additionally, this PPV Centre will be thoroughly sanitized daily to ensure safety for all its personnel and participants. Design Village Outlet Mall will be fully open for operations on the 23rd of August, according to the latest SOPs.
As for its exact location, Design Village will be transforming its Food Court as the place for retailers to receive their vaccination.
A huge thank you to Burger King and KFC (for sponsoring meals to the volunteers) as well as to all Design Village staff members in aiding the success of this vaccination centre.
Ramping Up Vaccination Rate In Penang
Let’s all hope that with the addition of Design Village as another vaccination center, Penang can further ramp up on the vaccination rates.
