This is the season to be jolly! We are all so excited for Christmas. It is the season when shopping malls are beautifully decorated, and hotel buffets are packed with Christmas-themed treats. Of course, we are thrilled by the return of Christmas beverages from Starbucks. Now, Penang is taking up the notch by having a Christmas Market at Esplanade!

Here’s a fun fact! Christmas Market was originated in Germany. Thankfully, many other countries are starting to adopt this idea. ‘Cause it is from the land of bratwurst, Christmas Market is also known as Christkindlmarkt, Christkindlesmarkt, Christkindlmarket, Christkindlimarkt, and Weihnachtsmarkt. Commonly, this street market is packed with Christmas treats!
This year, a Christmas Market will be happening at Esplanade from 6th to 8th December 2019. Based on its Facebook Event page, the free admission event will have quite a number of stalls selling food, beverages, and goods. On the photos, there are cookies, Christmas logs, cupcakes, decorations, and some usual treats you will usually find in pop-up events.
Happening From 6th To 8th December
Christmas Market is happening for one weekend only from 6th to 8th December 2019. Attending the event will be a great way to kickstart the Christmas spirit! According to the Facebook event page, this event is hosted by Experience Christmas in Penang 2019. The host appears to have other Christmas related events happening in December, too!
