Hello, Penang lang! We’re back with more exciting news this week! As a proud Penangite who loves the rich heritage and food, there’s another thing that Penang is known for. And it’s our own traditional pastries. This time, the renowned Ban Heang, who is the first in Penang to develop different flavours of Tambun Biscuits is collaborating with Starbucks, so you can buy these delicious pastries at Starbucks!
Ban Heang Collaborates With Starbucks To Release Traditional Pastries
1. Tambun Biscuit x Starbucks
In this exclusive modern packaging, it’s our familiar taste of Tambun Biscuit from Ban Heang. Packaged with 3 pieces of Tambun Biscuit, it’s just a good amount of delicacy for a quick snack that reminds you of the olden day’s taste. This miniaturised form of Tau Shar Pheah is filled with mung bean paste and seasoned to a good balance of savoury and sweet that makes you want to keep eating.
2. Cheese Crisp
Another snack that’s available in Starbucks is this crunchy Cheese Crisp. If you’re a cheese lover, you’ve got to have a try on this combination of cheddar cheese and biscuit. A twist of Western-style ingredients on our traditional biscuit, this is an explosion of cheesy and buttery flavours that lingers in your mouth.

3. Magicube
Magicube sounds a little bit special, doesn’t it? If you’re still new on this snack, it’s actually the fillings of Tau Shar Pheah without the outer crust. Shaped into little cubes, it’s best eaten using your hands. Also, a little considerate point from this package is that this is a resealable bag. So no worries if you can’t finish it in one go. And with no preservations of any sort, this can be stored for 6 months on the shelves!
What do you think about this collaboration? It’s a little surprise from Ban Heang and Starbucks, isn’t it? But that’s good news for us because now we can find these delicious pastries at our nearby Starbucks. However, if you want to try out more exciting flavours like Oreo and Rojak from Ban Heang, it’s better to visit their outlet because Starbucks only has limited flavours.
