According to Malay Mail, the 31-year-old Low Sawming is a young man full of stories, with diverse work experiences. Not only is he a street dancer, a dance instructor, graphic designer, videographer, but also a barber. He’s been in the dance industry since he was 13.

Low worked as a graphic designer in Johor for over 10 years before coming back to Penang to help out his mother in the hairsalon. He also filmed international dance competitions to promote the art in Malaysia. Then, he founded his own dance studio, Uptown Soul Art Station, with a corner dedicated for “barber space.” However, the indefinite lockdown and MCO has severely affected his business.

While the hawker business has helped him and his family go through this tough time, Low still wishes to go back to his usual career when things allow again. After all, being a hawker is major departure from his usual profession.
