2. Magnificent Deepavali @ Sunway Carnival Mall | 11th-28th October 2019
The entire month of October is dedicated to all-things Deepavali aside from Halloween. It’s that time of the year where, regardless of the differences in beliefs, we, Malaysians unite as one in celebration of this joyous occasion. From 11th-28th October, celebrate Deepavali with Sunway Carnival Mall’s glorious peacock centre-piece decoration. Aside from that, you can also feast your eyes with the glamorous Bharathnatyam, Peacock and Odissi Dance by the Temple Of Fine Arts Penang.

3. The Art Of Kolam Competition @ Straits Quay | 19th October 2019
When it comes to Deepavali, aside from the endless array of traditional Indian cuisine and rhythmic dance moves, there’s one more mandatory element. It’s the Kolam, a classic geometrical decoration made from coloured flour or sometimes, rice. Did you know that making a beautiful Kolam requires more than just an artistic sense? This 19th October, put your artistic skill to a test by participating in The Art of Kolam Competition organised by Straits Quay Penang. 4. Glamorous Diwali @ New World Park | 19th-27th October 2019
Say you’re looking for something fun and exciting to do this Diwali, then head over the New World Park Penang. This is because from the 19th October onwards, there will be several fun-filled activities taking place until the 28th of October. If you lover getting crafty, then the Diwali Art & Craft Workshops will be your cup of tea. You can design candle holder, peacock oil lamp and more. Or, sit back and enjoy the live traditional Indian performances for a joyous celebration.
5. Penang StarWalk 2019 | 20th October 2019
An annual event that takes place in Penang is none other than StarWalk. This year, the 42nd edition of StarWalk will take place at Gurney Paragon Mall, similar to last year. StarWalk Penang needs no further introduction, it’s organised by TheStar and it essentially allows all participants to stroll along the designated route and enjoy the beauty of Penang. StarWalk is one of the largest event to take place in Penang with an estimated figure of 20,000 participants last year.

6. Penang International Science Fair | 2nd-3rd November 2019
Calling all science enthusiasts, if you enjoy learning more about the technological advancements and scientific discoveries, then brace yourselves as the Penang International Science Fair is back again this year! Open to the public with free admission, this 2-day Science Fair will be having exhibitions, competitions and workshops for those who attend this event. It’s time to get hands on and up close during the educational and fun scientific workshops.

7. Penang Bridge International Marathon | 2nd November 2019
It’s that time of the year whereby marathon runners gather for a morning filled with exciting adventure. Put your hands together for Penang’s annual event, the Penang Bridge International Marathon. Some runners practise for months in order to take part in this event since the full marathon distance is as far as 42KM while half marathon stretches to 21KM. If those are too overwhelming for you, fear not. You can always take part in the 10KM run too! It will definitely be a day filled with sweat and fun! Run your hearts away!

8. Aki Matsuri Autumn Festival @ Straits Quay | 8th-10th November 2019
For the first time ever, Penang will be having the Aki Matsuri Autumn Festival that’s hosted by Straits Quay. So if you’re looking to experience this historical Japan without having to leave Penang, then you most definitely gotta take part in this event. There will be a total of 20 Japanese food stalls and fun-filled workshops conducted during this event. Bring your friends and family along for a uniquely Japanese experience right here in our humble island of Penang. 9. Georgetown Literary Festival | 21st-24th November 2019
Time to strut your inner writer prodigy during the annual Georgetown Literary Festival, an international festival that aims to celebrate World Literature, Translations and Literary Arts. As this festival is open to the public for free, you’ll get to attend talks by famous literary writers across the world. Last year’s Georgetown Literary Festival had an iconic list of speakers such as Shirley Lim and more. This year, get ready for another up-close and personal talk session with speakers like Haji Muhammad Salleh and others. Find out more about this event here
