It is now June, and that can only mean one thing for Penangites… Durians! Yes, the King of Fruits is back and many durian enthusiasts have been travelling across the state to savour the odorous yet delectable fruit. Foodies know that the best durians are usually found in orchards located in Teluk Bahang and Balik Pulau. And to our delight, there is a new spot in Balik Pulau where you can enjoy the creamy taste of durian together with the aromatic sip of coffee.
2 Acres Café: A Must-Visit For Durian And Coffee Enthusiasts
Although it has just opened its doors on June 6, 2 Acres Café Penang has already attracted a bit of a buzz with its breathtaking landscape design. It is unknown if the area is really 2 acres, but many can vouch for its spacious environment. The owner meticulously designed the place by building a 2-storeys house with a small overpass bridge where you can see everything below.

The newly opened cafe provides indoor and outdoor seating for customers to enjoy their cup of coffee. Step into their glasshouse located right across their order counter, and settle comfortably inside the wooden-themed interior setting. You can also enjoy the pleasing view of greeneries right outside.

Don’t forget to check out their 2nd floor, which is built inside a construction container. The simple yet comfortable dining area allows patrons to bring in their favourite durians and coffee to savour. Furthermore, it connects to a steel canopy walk so you can admire the beautiful surroundings on the premises. The exterior of the cafe boasts a small pond, trees, and a hammock chair, with patio furniture for nature-lovers.

Leisure, Coffee, Food… And Durian!
Right outside the glasshouse is a small durian stall where you can order and enjoy in the comfort of the cafe. Pick your favourite from over 30 options including Red Prawn, Hor Lor, Black Thorn, and of course the popular Musang King!

For coffee, they are only serving 3 types in the meantime, which are black, white and mocha. However, what caught our eyes are their house specialty beverages: the Matcha Strawberry and Hojicha Berries. Anyone who is a huge fan of matcha should give these unique combinations a try!

Now for the food. There are 5 main dishes you can choose from, including Smoked Duck Aglio Olio, Chicken & Mushroom Carbonara, Beef Meatballs Bolognese, Breakfast Club, and the vegetarian option, Mushroom Risotto. If you are feeling snacky, you can also order their Salted Egg Fries which is perfect for sharing with friends.
