It is one of the reasons online shopping has been so popular. Now, what if we tell you that you can visit a shopping mall, in the comfort of your own home? Confused? We are here to spill!
1st Avenue Turning Into A Virtual Mall
In recent news, it was reported by EdgeProp that 1st Avenue located in the heart of George Town will be turning into a virtual mall. Being one of the newest shopping malls in Penang, it houses many notable brands including Cotton On and H&M. Anchored by the departmental store Parkson, 1st Avenue has a net lettable space of 407,076 square feet, with 90% of the space being occupied.
Recently acquired by Ideal United Bintang International Berhad, 1st Avenue is set to turn into a virtual mall by the third quarter of 2020. Changing its name into 1st Avenue Virtual Mall, it will be a combination of digital and brick-and-mortar shopping. Collaborating with Shopee, it offers a virtual experience for shoppers to shop virtually via the platform. Additionally, 1st Avenue Virtual Mall’s mobile app will be available in 2021. So cool!
