10 Events in March Penang 2018

Foodies, previously we did an article on “Top 10 Events Happening in Penang February 2018” and we were shook, so many of you liked it! Due to overwhelming responses, we’ve decided to do another one, the March edition. Different from the February edition where there are lots of fun and exciting activities, March is more practical and about self-love. Here we are with the 10 Events in March Penang 2018.

#1 (2 MAR) Touch of Spring Photography Contest

The photography contest is hosted by BSG Property and is located at Permai Gelleria. This might sound a little off for you but never for photographers. The venue is beautifully decorated with CNY decorations for the purpose of photo taking. Did you know you can walk away with ang pow worth up to RM888 by just taking photos with the CNY decors! That’s right just submit your photos and get “Likes” from your friends. Contest starts from now till 2nd of March. For more information, click on the link below (not scam okay).

#2 (10 FEB-18 MAR) Hin Paint Jam

Any art enthusiast over here or creative humans seeking for inspirations? Take a look at Hint Paint Jam at Hin Bus Depot. The exhibition space will turn into an open studio where you could just walk in, rent an easel and start spilling those creative juices on the canvas. Just walk in anytime during the open hours, wear comfortably, pick your spot and start painting. There are also guided sessions if you feel lost. After you’re done, you can even bring home your art pieces. Of course, you have to pay a certain amount of fees as a form of support. Head over to their event page for more information.

#3 (2 MAR) Chap Goh Meh Celebration

The last day of Chinese New Year Celebration, also known as the Chinese Valentine’s Day. On this night, with the full moon shining down, young ladies of marrying age venture out to popular sea promenades to throw oranges into the sea, wishing for a good soul mate. We know it’s the tradition but please don’t simply throw oranges, it could pollute the environment (no offense). On that night, Chinese would flock the Esplanade as there are a lot of exciting perfomances and activities to be carried out. So don’t miss out, it’s one of the best events in March Penang 2018.

#4 (2 MAR) GINaissance 2.0 @ Room 495

GINasissance is back to the Room again due to overwhelming responses. 3 hours of free flow of gin mix like what ?! Just pay RM100 nett per person and you could enjoy unlimited drinks such as The Botanist, Thomas Dakin Small Batch, Caorunn, Fords, Monkey 47, Broker’s Gin, and more by their guest bartenders in the house. They’re limited to only 50 customers and is first come first serve so make your reservations ASAP. Gin lovers, this event in March Penang 2018 is definitely for you. #5 (9-11 MAR) Megahome 2018

Tired of old furniture and need a change? Fridge is older than your sofa? Megahome expo is back again with more exhibitors and at a bigger venue. With over 150 local exhibitors and 100, 000 sqm of exhibition space in SPICE Arena. Megahome Electrical and Home Fair is a platform to source for electronics and home products and learn about the latest trend in the industry. Just head over there, take a walk and pick your ideal home products and an amazing deal. This is by far one of the most practical events in March Penang 2018.

#6 (10 MAR) Shamrock Fun Run Penang 2018

In conjunction with St. Patrick’s Day, Shamrock Fun run is held at Strait Quay with total distance of 5km. People of all ages are invited to join the run, it’s beneficial for health plus it’s fun. There are also lucky draw session and best dress competition to 10 winners. So please dressed as a Leprechaun, Green Arrow, The Hulk, traditional dress or anything that is green. Register to avoid disappointment as Penangites are very proactive in this kind of events, get yourself involved in fun run events in March Penang 2018.

#7 (11 MAR) I Love Penang Run- Seberang Perai

Another run event in March Penang 2018, I Love Penang run is one of the largest fun run in Malaysia. If you love the crowd and Penang, then be sure to participate in this event. Just pay RM20 and you’ll get a t-shirt and finishing medal. Keep in mind it’s located at the other side of Penang, mainland.

Dinner is often longer than lunch and you wouldn’t want to feel awkward right? Don’t hesitate and give yourself a chance to get to know more people.
