Starting off this list with Pak Lan Martabak Mini Ayam! You will need to check out their flipping skills when you order. Their square martabak has a good mixture of minced chicken, eggs, and onions. It comes together with preserved pink onions. It is honestly a very good price because it is only RM2.50 per martabak. Honestly, what a deal!

2. Peking Aromatic Duck
Peking aromatic duck is something you will probably have when you visit a very fancy Chinese restaurant. In a Chinese restaurant, they will have sliced roasted duck, pancake skin (or, is it wantan skin?), cucumbers and scallions, and sauce, all in different plates. Here in Tanjung Bungah Night Market, they will wrap everything for you. And, it is so big! It is almost popiah size! Is it good? Surprisingly, it is. It has a good balance of roasted duck, vegetables, and the sauce ties up everything up together really well! Must try!

On the list, there is also xiao long bao! Another thing that you will find in fancy Chinese restaurants. Xiao long bao is a steamed dumpling with soup. It comes together with soy sauce with a sprinkle of fresh ginger. There are two prices for the xiao long bao at Tanjung Bungah Night Market, and the RM 7 comes with a thinner skin. It is good for the price! If you are planning to get it, you need to wait for at least seven minutes for them to steam it! Get it when it is not peak hours to save some time.

4. Putu Mayam
The first sweet ending on the list! If you are looking for something sweet and light, you need to give putu mayam a go! Originated from India, putu mayam is rice flour that is pressed into noodle form before steaming. When you mix it together with brown sugar, and coconut shavings, it tastes really amazing! Let’s not forget about the texture too. The putu mayam store is small, but hard to miss because of the smell. For only RM 2, you’ll have yourself a putu mayam to satisfy your cravings!
5. Muar Chee
You need to queue for this! There is always a queue for one of Penang’s most famous street snacks at Tanjung Bungah Night Market. The steamed rice flour is tossed crushed nuts, and sugar, with an option topping it off with shallots. When you order, you need to check out the man’s chopping and tossing skills! There are two sizes, small for RM3, and big for RM 4. The muar chee at Tanjung Bungah Night Market is slimy, and has a good portion of nuts, and sugar! You’ll love it!

6. Aligot Cheese
One of highly recommended food! Can’t think of a better combination than cheese and potatoes! This stall in Tanjung Bungah Night Market makes mash potatoes and mix it with cheese. It is legitimately one of the best comfort food of all time. When you scoop it up, it overflows down like a waterfall when it is hot. It comes together with a chicken sausage for the small size, and two sausages for the big size. The small size is good enough because too much cheese can be very overwhelming.

7. Fried Chicken Skin
The only reason why we all love fried chicken so much is because we are all in love with their skin. It is so hard to deny! It is pretty unbelievable if you are buying fried chicken for their tender meat. It makes no sense at all. There are a few stalls in Tanjung Bungah Night Market that sells fried chicken skin! We found one that sells ten pieces for only RM 2. What a steal! If you are traditional and you love everything about fried chicken, they have that too! But, you need to try fried chicken skin at least once in your lifetime.

8. Lao Dou Soya Beancurd
There is an old uncle selling soya beancurd at Tanjung Bungah Night Market. Although sitting down on a plastic chair, he is constantly promoting his soya beancurd. His soya beancurd comes in brilliant packaging with a logo that highly resembles his face! Unlike the normal soya beancurd that is much more watery, his soya beancurd is very similar to jelly, and it doesn’t come with your choice of white, or brown sugar. It tastes extremely different, but the good kind, of course! And, his sells soya drinks as well!

9. Bubble Milk Tea
There are two bubble milk tea trucks in Tanjung Bungah Night Market. Back in the good old days, these bubble milk tea trucks will always be stationed right in front of a school, and it is extremely popular among students. Time to throwback to the good old days before Tealive and the other big brands landed in Malaysia. These bubble milk tea trucks come in so many flavours, you will have a hard time choosing your drink. But, please, don’t compare them to the big brands, because their taste and price are very different!

Curry fish balls definitely pair really well with fried buns, also known as man tao! In general, curry fish ball and fried buns are a really good combination that you can normally find in fancy Chinese restaurants. Looking for something spicy, and squishy? This it is! Unfortunately, there is nothing extremely spectacular about this curry fish ball.
