Previously known as Cozy in The Rocket, they have revamp and relocated to King Street. For ultimate pasta experience, look no further than Jaloux, known to serve one of the best pasta in Penang. #2 Soul cafe
This is also one of editor’s favorite. If you’re that kind of person who prefers a wide array of choices, Soul cafe would be your perfect choice. They serve a variety of pastas and unlike those traditional flavors, it’s fusion pastas. Our recommendation? Carbonara of course, strong, creamy with an egg yolk nestled in the middle. Their aglio olio is also Penang Foodie approved. Soul cafe is definitely one of the places that serves great pasta in Penang.

#3 The Book Sandwich Cafe
This cafe is no stranger to locals when it comes to lobster sandwich, they’re simply one of the best. With other mains being so outstanding, there’s one thing people often overlook. It’s the carbonara, and it’s no ordinary. Have you seen carbonara served with caramalised pork belly? No joke the combination is odd, but also the bomb. You’ll find yourself finishing the whole plate on your own, no chance of “one bite” nor sharing.

Operating Hour: 12 p.m.-11 p.m. (Daily)
#4 Macallum Connoisseurs
First timers might miss this coming down from the highway due to the location, but Macallum could be one of the most spacious in Penang. It’s a place to get your daily meal fixed as they serve everything, from breakfast to desserts. So what is there to shout about? Their pastas of course, particularly carbonara (yes again). Unlike any other carbonara, this has an expensive touch to it— truffle. The combination is heavenly, truffle adds so much flavor to it, not overpowering but compliments the carbonara. Their other pastas are worth trying as well. Want some of everything but also great pasta in Penang? Macallum Connoisseurs.

If you’re a follower of Penang Foodie, you might just know we did a video on this cafe. Let’s be honest, you could taste quality from their food. Despite limited items on the menu, we want to share with you their mushroom alfredo. It’s vegetarian, and editor is not a fan of mushroom.
