First, there was the World Heritage Day on the 7th of July that came by and left a mark of glory in the hearts of many and George Town Festival are gearing up with back to back events from the 4th of July till 2nd of September with events blending culture, heritage, art and community around the globe.

Thus we’ve figured with the venturing and the planned out itinerary, ‘where should we eat today? ‘, a question that sucks the soul out of human should be left to us and for you to sway in with the trust we won’t let you down. This time we’ve collaborated with George Town Festival to brainstorm and pick the top 9 cafes in Georgetown that are in a constant search by both locals and tourists for an exquisite gastronomy, ambiance, service and ultimately good food.

WHAT’S NOT TO LOVE? In the era of Instagram story updates,ootd’s and cake hunting, China House is undoubtfully the heart in the scene of cafes mushrooming around with their ability to turn a simple space into a hip gastronomy featuring live band performances on Fridays, Saturday, and Sundays with more than 20 types of cakes made with lots of butter,quality ingredients and love to fill that tummy.

Is Ome pronounced like ‘Aum’ or o-me you may wonder? Joachim Leong and Shean Tan previously based in Kl decided Penang was their home and wanted the same for the visitors and so home became ‘Ome’. Specialised in coffee to suit the preference of each person’s need, all you gotta do is wake up and find your way there for a devil-free kick start. Other than coffee and tea, Ome will also offer Tan’s baked goods such as olive oil zucchini bread, butter pound loaf, bread pudding and banana sesame bread.

Having traveled around some parts of the world using bicycle the owners of this cafe is to ditch your vehicle behind and take a ride the old-school style. Thus, inspired by a laid-back style, this Sitigun Cafe invites you over for a cup of coffee, apple pie and for a chat or possibly a bike ride around town.
