Without a doubt, June has been a good month so far with rules and regulations loosening up. Slowly but surely, all of us are moving towards the new normality with the implementation of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO). Yesterday, Penang Global Tourism has just announced that some fun attractions around Penang are now welcoming guests. Here’s another good news!
Theme Parks Are Now Allowed To Open
First reported by The Star, theme parks are now allowed to operate, as long as no water-based activities are involved. Yeoh Soon Hin, Penang’s tourism, arts, culture, and heritage committee chairman, announced this news during a press conference at The Top @ Komtar on 11th June 2020. With that said, half of Teluk Bahang’s famous theme park, Escape Theme Park, should be opening soon!
Being one of Penang’s pride, Escape Theme Park consists of two sections, Adventureplay and Waterplay. At Adventureplay, go wild with Gecko Tower, Hill Rider, and Kite Flyer. The latest extension, Waterplay, children of all ages can enjoy the Lazy River, Tubby Tunnel, and also Waze Ball. It is also the home to the longest slide with a Guinness World of Record to prove! But, water-based activities have to wait for now.
No Official Announcements From Escape Theme Park Yet
Combing through Escape’s official website and social media accounts, the last update stated that the theme park will comply with the order, and be closed from 18th March to 31st August 2020. However, this was updated on 25th March 2020. Perhaps, they will be opening considering that a green light was given! Do you miss doing outdoor activities? Let us know in the comments!
