Hello, everyone. We’ve got some news to update you. It’s 2020 and our government has released some important rules that are now officially carried out. And one of them is the smoking ban. Started on the first day of 2020, health enforcement officers have been patrolling around eateries to seek any offenders. However, with limited officers, they now want the public to report any offenders by using WhatsApp.
Report Smoking Ban Offenders Using WhatsApp
Yes, you can now be an officer by spotting any smoking ban offenders. With the advancement of technologies, the government now wants us to report any offenders who are smoking in all restaurants and hawker stalls in Malaysia. And that includes all air-conditioned and open-air restaurants, street stalls, hawker centres, and cafes.
If you happen to spot any smoking ban offenders when you’re eating around. You can now contact the health ministry officers through their WhatsApp number at 010-8608949. Remember to include the following details too!
- A photo of smoker in action within the eateries
- Name and address of the restaurant
- Time and date of the incident
That being said, you still can be puffing away under one circumstance. And that’s if you stand at least 3 metres away from any eateries. If not, anyone found guilty can be fined up to RM2500! Just a few days ago, a 60 years old hawker was caught lighting up his cigarettes in Bayan Baru Food Court and was fined RM250. So let’s listen to the law because it’s time to take care of both our and loved one’s health.
