Are you excited? Their grand opening is less than a month as we speak! Initially, their grand opening was supposed to be at the end of March. But, they knew that we couldn’t wait for it any longer. Their super team worked really hard for the past few months and made the date of their grand opening earlier than expected. So, mark your calendars! 14th March 2019 falls on a Thursday.

2. It is the very first IKEA store in Northern Region.

We are so happy that there is an IKEA in our proximity, like, finally! Do you know how many stores are there throughout Malaysia? Currently, there are three excluding IKEA Batu Kawan. The other three are located at Tebrau, Cheras, and Damansara. Being the newest addition, IKEA Batu Kawan will also be the best with a unique IKEA shopping and dining experience.

3. You can actually start buying things now.

Have you heard about IKEA Family before? It is a membership whereby you can get discounts. On top of that, if you spend the required minimum amount, you can get daily free coffee too! One of the best ways to learn and sign up for IKEA Family is through their roadshows. Check out their Tesco E-Gate roadshow that will be happening on the 28th February to 3rd March 2019!

5. IKEA Batu Kawan has 49 showrooms.

This is so wild! If you planning to furnish your house, you know exactly where to go for inspirations. IKEA Batu Kawan has 49 showrooms spanning across 470,135 square feet. This time around, their store presents a localised take on its home furnishing. We can’t wait to see it! IKEA Batu Kawan is going to be so different as compared to the other IKEAs.

6. Their restaurant can accommodate more than 750 people.

Good news, guys! We can eat meatballs comfortably at their brand new restaurant. To be specific, their restaurant can accommodate exactly 756 people. That is a lot of people! We hope that they don’t run out of meatballs ’cause we are coming! Apart from meatballs, you can enjoy a wide selection of tasty Swedish and locally inspired food.

7. There will a bakery too!

If you are craving for baked goods during one of your shopping sprees, IKEA Batu Kawan got you covered! IKEA has expanded its portfolio by selling freshly baked bread and pastries. This is going to be an added treat to the Swedish Food Market and also IKEA Bistro. We think that is so brilliant ’cause now we can get everything under one roof.

8. IKEA Food Truck is roaming the streets.

IKEA is full of surprises. There is a mobile IKEA Truck that is making stops at selected locations to offer customers of Nothern Malaysia free samples of their really tasty meatballs and chicken balls.
