Beat the heat with Penang Road Teochew Chendul, the renowned cendol pushcart loved by Penangites and tourists. The bowl of shaved ice doused with aromatic coconut milk, fragrant brown sugar, red bean and green rice flour jelly will surely refresh your spirits. Although the long queue might be discouraging, but we assure you it is worth the wait.

Another one of our favorite local hawkers on this list is none other than the stall which sells cooling Oh Kio (a.k.a. Aiyu Jelly) along Weld Quay. It is easy to spot it on the roadside, bustling with people enjoying every sip of this summer dessert in this hot weather. Who can blame them? The Oh Kio, consisting of delicious sweet jelly topped with shaved ice and lime juice put people at ease with its vitalizing taste.

The picturesque eatery lies within ESH Landscaping near Botanical Garden, with tables and chairs placed in the open space for a wonderful outdoor dining experience. Upon visiting there, do try out their puree which are made with fresh fruits including honeydew and mango.
