1. Dora The Explorer at Sunway Carnival Mall

Remember everyone’s childhood favourite Dora The Explorer, a show that is so full of fun and adventures that just makes you want to jump right into the show and just explore with her? Explore and have fun at Penang’s first ever and largest Nickelodeon Dora the Explorer event at Sunway Carnival Mall from 21 – 31 March 2019. Bring your kids on a magical adventure with Dora and Dora’s best friend Boots, a furry five-and-a-half-year-old monkey, where your kids will get to meet and greet these two characters at the mall’s Upper Ground Concourse on 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and 31 March (2PM, 4PM, 6PM and 8PM)! Fun activities such the Giant Ball Pool, Giant Buzz Wire Adventure, Carnival Game, and Inflatable Bounce house await you!

2. PICC Food Truck Festival

Avid fans of food trucks, it is time to binge eat again! PICC is back with an exciting array of food and drinks trucks so that we can all relive the joy of feasting on bite-sized yummies. There is a smorgasbord of food trucks with their unique and one of a kind delicacies, interactive workshops where everyone can hone various skills, interesting performances by international buskers, exciting game stalls as well as photo booths for those who love being in front of the camera. 5. Penang Arts Week

Do you think that was it for the art scene of Penang? Surprise, you thought wrong! For the whole week, Penang Arts Week has got you covered, pretty exciting for people that find peace and beauty in timeless pieces – be it painting, sculpture or photography.  Known as an arts hub and a city with bustling arts affairs, Penang is beyond graffiti and street art. Happening for the very first time, the Penang Arts Week brings together a showcase of works by undiscovered artists.  During this week, there will be numerous exhibitions of various themes around Penang. The week will start and end with a Grand Opening and Finale at the Penang Esplanade, where there’ll be performances, light show and 3D arts-related exhibition.

Our Beloved Prime Minister Collage Art Exhibition

Through different forms of artistic expression, it showcases the creativity and rich imaginations of local young artists and paying respect to a national leader. By using different materials such as pebbles, grains and beans, paper, screw and nuts, nails, eggshells, ropes, buttons, beads, shells, thread and some recyclable items, our young local artists created portraits of the Prime Minister with different appearances and styles.

Lee Siang Wiring Arts Exhibition

Lee Siang creatively includes the element of interaction in most of his artworks. He believes the wall in between human can be broken by interactions. Through his workpieces, he aims to share the positive energy and happiness to the public.

Wind in One’s Sail Art Exhibition
Date: 24 March 2019 – 31 March 2019
Venue: Gurney PlazaAn exhibition by Yeow Chye Art Studio located in Air Itam, Penang. The art centre is named after the owner, Cheng Yeow Chye, who is an artist.

6. Earth Hour cum Run & Ride for Sight with St. Nicholas’ Home

7. IKEA Batu Kawan

Brace yourself if you’re planning to head over to IKEA Batu Kawan for their opening which is happening this month! I believe for the whole month of March, IKEA Batu Kawan will be super crowded so prepare yourself and be patient as the queue will be insane. A little patience can bring you a long way!

8. Legendary Wood-Firez Pizza

Enough about events after events, here’s what you can already try out which is the legendary wood-fired pizza! When news broke out about how the legendary wood-fired pizza is closing because of the owner going through knee surgery, you can hear the sound of shattering hearts from many hardcore pizza fanatics.  Good news though! Legendary Wood-Fired Pizza is back up and running! The best kind of pizza is baked on a self-made brick oven using the traditional wood fire and that’s exactly how they do it. So, what are you waiting for? Be noted that it is only available for takeaway!
