Maliia Bakery – a Roti Benggali bakery located in a heritage building along Transfer Road providing freshly baked loaves of soft white bread with crispy crusts. Dipped in curry, spread with rich kaya and margarine. Maliia Bakery’s very own roti benggali with its signature golden, crispy crust and soft, fluffy white crumb, has been a staple for many Penangites. For those who are seeking for a healthier bread using organic products, do try out Yin’s Sourdough Bakery, they never disappoint. All breads are hand-crafted and freshly baked using natural ingredients and sourdough-baking method. Everything is made from scratch at Yin’s, from cultivating wild yeasts to fermenting and rolling of sourdough, using the finest, traditional method. It takes more than two days. A must-try is their Cinnamon Sourdough Roll topped with Walnut and Raisin, the bread is dense, crusty but soft and pillowy inside, with a generous amount of crushed Walnuts and Raisin.

Love A Loaf is a French-Inspired bakery cafe that serves a wide array of freshly baked bread with no preservatives and artificial colouring. Besides, choices of pastries, cakes, coffee and drinks are sweeping too. Joies Sordough is a hidden sourdough cafe, but we will tell you where it is! As you expected, they concentrate highly on sourdough bread! It goes through a cool, long fermentation that brings out the true flavour of the grain. Choose their bread such as cranberry walnut, almond chocolate chips, and red rice yeast cranberry chocolate chips! Or, have some pastas if you’re feeling extra hungry!
