Foodies, we know we’ve let you guys down when we wrote the March Edition, there aren’t many exciting events around this month. Fret not because April is around the corner and guess what? There are a lot of cool events happening in April 2018, and no it’s not April fool. April is the month of non-stop good food, good vibes and good body.
Events Happening in April 2018 (Good Vibes):
1. Splashing Neon 2018 (APR 14)
Ever wanted to take part in the Songkran Festival and have fun throwing water at one another? Why the hustle to Thailand when you can experience it here in Penang. Splashing Neon is probably one of the most anticipated events happening in April 2018. It offers public a unique Songkran experience with neon paints and live sets, indulge in and you’ll have unlimited fun. See yourself and your friends drown in neons and glow in the dark. The Ark Invasion is organising this thrilling event for the 4th year in a row. So if you missed the joy last year, make sure to join it this round!

2. Penang Liars Walk- Street Art (APR 7-JUL 7)
Happening on every Saturday, Liars Walk is based on an original idea by Holly Gramazio, where performance art, gaming and story telling collide. During the walk, there are a few stations you need to hurdle through. Each stop, two stories will be told, and you’ll have to guess which is the correct one. Collect points and ultimately a prize will be given to the best truth detective at the end.

3. Colour Bubble Go-go Run 2018 (APR 15)
Back by popular demand, it’s time to get dirty together again. Enjoy a healthy run and have fun immersing yourself with colors and bubbles. Parents, bring your child together for a family bonding time, plus it’s the best way to stay away from gadgets. Color Bubble’s profit will be donated to Persatuan Mencegah Mangsa Dera Negeri Pulau Pinang and Caring Home Centre. So you’re running for a good course, color bubble might be the most meaningful events happening in April 2018.

1. Penang International Food Festival – Street Food Festival (APR 14&15)
Yessss more food for us to indulge, more tummy love ! We went last year and our tummy were so happy, so many food stalls we didn’t know where to start. We heard this year, they are installing more stalls in with more choices. As Penangites, we’re proud of our hawker food, you don’t have to wander places to get your cravings fixed. Nasi lemak, char koay teow, laksa, bubur kacang, PIFF have it all. Besides food, PIFF is also the best place for you to learn some Malaysian culture.

2. Penang International Food Festival- Taste of Penang (APR 21&22)
Eager to explore all the cafes and restaurants in Penang? Believe it or not, it’ll take months to complete even if u visit one a day. Don’t worry, we have a solution for you, just head over to Taste of Penang. Food exhibition from some of the best cafes and restaurants in town. Just remember to bring more cash because the hunt never stops. Located at one of the city’s busiest district, Taste of Penang is surely one of the most exciting events happening in April 2018.

3. Penang International Food Festival- Food Truck Invasion (APR 28&29)
Last stop for PIFF, Food Truck Invasion. Since it’s the last one, it’s going to be a BIG one. Featuring a jaw-dropping 150 food trucks from all over Malaysia and neighboring countries. PIFF hopes to set Guiness World Records in the most food trucks in a single event (the current record being 123 vehicles in Saitama). So go empty stomach and feast, be it traditional or modern food. There’s also live performances so mark your calendar now.

4. TLM Food & Beverage Expo 2018 (APR 6-8)
For those of you who missed out last year’s Expo, this is no doubt a good news. They’re back and bigger, the TLM Food & Beverage Expo! With over hundred stalls selling your favourite food such as ice cream sandwich, fried chicken, cheesy grilled chicken, thai milk tea and more. In fact, cafes and bakery’s will also take part because last year Love a Loaf and Rabbit Softserve were there. You can get your favourite Korean and Taiwan snacks too at a steal price. This is no doubt one of the eye-pleasing events happening in April 2018.

5. [BONUS] TLM Baby Expo (APR 6-8)
Baby Expo happens at the same time with Food & Beverage Expo, at the same venue. So if you have a newborn or out of baby products, do check them out. They have different brands and products at a great deal, we know it’s expensive to raise a child (no offense). Apart from that, there are also mini games and contests for your kids to participate. You could also walk away with exciting prizes,o check their page out to find out more.

Events Happening in April 2018 (Good Brain&Body):
1. 48H2 Hackathon 2018 (APR 20-22)
A 48 hours of hardware and IoT Hackathon. Hackathon = Hack + Marathon. Everyone will have work together as a team to create fun project out of cardboard. No it’s no ordinary cardboard when it’s combined with Maker Uno. Anyone whether be it an engineer, teacher, students is eligible to join as long as you’re 18 and above and has a create mind. All these might sound easy, but wait until you get your hands on, the pressure is real. 48H2 Hackathon is one of the most challenging events happening in April 2018.
