#2 Nickelodeon Playground (28,29 April& 5,6 May)
Parents, this is for your kids(and you of course). Northern Region’s first ever Nickelodeon Playground is opened at Sunway Carnival Mall! Featuring characters group from the world of Nick Jr such as Shimmer and Shine, Paw Patrol, and Blaze and the Monster Machines.
The playground is available from 27 April until 13 May 2018. Your kids would definitely want to meet Nickelodeon characters in real life. On 28, 29 April and 5, 6 May, there’ll be a meet & greet session with Shimmer and Shine.
Race like Blaze and his best friend AJ at the Blaze and the Monster Machines racetrack. Pawsome slide (parents help needed) at the interactive Paw Tower is also one of the highlights. There are fun workshops for your kids to learn and interact as well. You and your kids are going to have an awesome, tiring day.

They’re back again in Penang this year with more nerve-wrecking moments. Witness teams from across the globe go head-to-head, with fierce battles to gain the throne. Of course, you’ll get to see over 180cm guys (hot ones) running around. #5 Taps Farewell Party (4-6 May)
Our favorite hangout spot, The Saw Emporium Penang has one sad news for you foodies. Those of you who’ve been there will know Taps Beer Bar. That’s right, they’re saying goodbye to us Penangites. With over 50 imported craft beers to choose from, Taps has been serving us for 6 months. To commemorate that, Taps is throwing a beer party! Join them for a never-ending beer party, and drink your way home. You’ll only get to have Taps until 6 May so why not go hard? #6 2018 Penang Eco 100 (10&11 May)
The real-deal events happening in May Penang 2018, Penang Eco 100 started back in 2015. It is the 1st ever ultra trail event in West Malaysia with 50km and 100km category. Now, they’ve expanded to four categories, with 100 miles and 30 km added. This not only challenges you physically, but mentally as well. Only those who strong enough mentally and physically could finish the race. Why Eco though? Because the trail revolves around nature and cultural heritage. Being accorded the status of Super Trail of Asia Trail Master, Eco 100 is designed to be an international race. So are you tough enough to join?

Editor went OMG when she first encountered this event. As the title suggests, this will truly be an unforgettable night. With huge stars that once influenced the whole Asia and even went international, it’s an honor for us to be held in Penang. Sammi Cheng, Jeff Chang, Phil Chang, and Donna Chiu, for the first time, they’ll gather on one stage to perform to us Penangites. The songs that once mended our souls, sung thousands of times in KTV would be live in Penang. Don’t hesitate, grab your friends and go together. This could also be the best and perfect gift for your mother in upcoming Mother’s Day.

#8 Wesak Day (29 May)
Observed by devotees to celebrate Buddha’s birthday, enlightenment and achievement of Nirvana. Devotees will meditate as well as participate in candle-lit processions in temples during the day. As a sign of benevolence, doves are set free and other charitable acts are also performed by devotees such as providing free vegetarian meals. In the evening is where the main attraction comes. A procession of floats decked with colorful flowers and bright lights accompanied by children singing and monks chanting prayers while sprinkling holy water throughout the journey. Some floats have even adapt the modern culture, where they’re decorated with different movie themes. This would normally take about 5 hours, walking around Georgetown.

#9 Penang Paddy Field Run 2018 (13 May)
This is yet another running events happening in May Penang 2018. We’ve heard of all kinds of run like bubble run or even color run. But Paddy Field run? Sounds interesting. The idea is to promote a healthier lifestyle and get back to nature. Apart from promoting the paddy field itself, you get to experience what paddy field truly looks like. It is also a great event for family bonding time, and get to nature together.

Miss those days when everything was so cheap? Your parents sure have told you on how they could fix their lunch with only RM0.50. We can’t buy lunch with RM0.50, but back then RM3 could.
