Cr: @wils0n0ng

Only pizza die-hard fans would know this place, the ultimate coffee shop pizza in Penang. Yes, while the name sounds fancy, it’s located in a coffee shop. Run by an old couple for years, the aunty speaks fluent English. Baked on a self-made brick oven using wood fire, everything is made from scratch. Delicious, cheesy, local-style pizza. Don’t go without making any reservations thinking you’ll get a slice or two. You’ll have to wait for more than an hour without reservation, unless you’re that lucky.

Phot by Integratedinfo

What’s better than dining by the beach, with jazz band jamming as background? It seems almost too good to be true, like a movie scene. That’s how it works at Sigi’s Bar & Grill, where you get the best beach view, surrounded by greens and good food. We tried their pizzas and couldn’t be more proud to say it’s some of the best pizza in Penang. Hand-tossed, thin, crispy crust with all the flavors you need. We recommend getting

#4 Via Pre

One of our favourite Italian restaurants which was on our Italian restaurant’s list. Via Pre is an authentic Italian restaurant set in the heart of Penang. To some Italians, it’s home away from home. That’s right, authentic Italian cuisine with great hospitality. Their pizzas are raved by many. Flavorful but not overpowering, made from scratch and very Italian. Go for the Italian classics or bold flavors, they have quite a list for pizzas.

#5 Yin’s Sourdough Pizza

Millennials are no stranger to this pizza spot. Yin’s Sourdough Pizza is another brainchild of Yin’s. Once nestled in Wisma Yeap Chor Yee, they’ve now signed out and opened up another outlet— Yin’s Wholefood Manufactory. All time favourite? The Egg Benny. Chewy, fluffy sourdough crust topped with Chicken Bratwurst, molten pool of cheese and a half-cooked egg in the center. The owner is serious when it comes to pizzas, she even imported a Valoriani Brick Oven to bake pizzas. So if you’re looking for a good pizza in Penang, hit Yin’s up.

An extensive menu including vegan and gluten-free meals, turns up their pizza is a bomb. Made prior to order, you gotta be a little patient. Thin, fluffy crust topped with generous amount of toppings, the sauce packs a lot of flavors. Enough said, you have to try it out on your own.

Probably the only vegan cafe in town, Wholey Wonder is a plant-based wholefood cafe set in Hin Bus Depot. Now we know some of you love your meat and are skeptical towards “vegan” food. We understand it gets frustrating sometimes when our Muslim friends don’t get to enjoy certain food, especially pizza. Don’t worry, you guys can now enjoy delicious, affordable pizzas at Streeto Pizza. They’re probably the only pizzeria in town that caters to Muslims. Not your regular Italian pizza, but more local-styled with generous cheese and homemade sauce. Streeto is not a restaurant but more of a coffee shop, which makes it more neighborhood-friendly.

#9 George: Booze & Bites

Cr: @georgeboozenbites

Ever wondered how it’s like to have a pizza takeaway like in the US for $1 in Malaysia? While one dollar is simply impossible here, you can grab and go pizza in Penang. At George: Booze & Bites, it’s unpretentious, where you grab a bite and drink booze to refuel, like the Americans. Guess what? You can even get your pizza with a side of fries. Their wood fire pizza is simply delicious, and with topping like roasted pork. The owner seems to love pork very much that most of their menus include pork.

#10 Pizzaiola

Cr: @masiddddaa

While Pizzaiola might not be the most authentic Italian restaurant, they serve some really good pizzas. We would say Pizzaiola is more of a fusion, where it takes a bit of the culture here and there. Ever had fried tempura on your pizza? Or even unagi? The combination might sound odd but Pizzaiola makes them right. We recommend going for their set meals as they’re really great in value. You know where to get good pizza in Penang now don’t you?
