SHINISE Cafe Penang Review

SHINISE – a quaint little cafe on the street of Lebuh Melayu, situated right opposite Ghost Museum Penang. It’s an epic eating spot that operates as a cafe in the daytime and transforms into a bar in the nighttime. The SHINISE is designed to offers you a warm break from the energy of the city, sit back and relax to enjoy a cup of good coffee and awesome foods.

The exterior design itself is photogenic beyond words. Originally a pre-war heritage house, the rustic look of the cafe gives off a nostalgic atmosphere. The cafe is complemented by rattan chairs and vintage bicycle and plants. It’s an ideal spot for you to take #ootd picture, just saying.

The wall are well dressed up by some of the most notable business magazines (TIME, Fortune, etc.) giving an artistic touch to its ambiance. We were in love with the rustic charm that spreads around the cafe. Positive vibe indeed!

FOOD

The cafe’s menu is heart-made inspired, the chefs selected the ingredients heartily. They purchase products from their friend’s farm located at Cameron Highlands. In addition, they also look for fresh materials and ingredients from local market every morning. That being said, indulge yourself in a hearty satisfying foods to the fullest.

Eggs Benedict, the chef’s masterpiece was a simple but wholesome meal indeed. The idea of combining the ham with the sweet sauce, is simply amazing. The egg was fantastically baked and bread was fine. I hope you’ll never run out of ideas again where to get your brunch fix. I repeat, this is the one!

The cafe’s signature burger, Jackspice Burger didn’t disappoint, don’t leave without trying it. It comes with generous portion, huge slice of chicken, french fries and garnished with veggie salad. The chicken was on point and delicious. Another plus point was their special sauce, we suppose, it was strangely good.

IN SHORT

The visit was indeed a remarkable and rewarding one. One of the most notable elements of this cafe was its positive vibe, it was very relaxing and comfortable. Besides that, SHINISE’s foods were also to our liking. If you happen to head to Lebuh Melayu or Ghost Museum, you should really pay them a visit! Oh ya, their staffs were friendly too!
