A Truly Authentic, Vietnamese Dining Experience

Let’s jump right into the fares, shall we? Wait, before we do, a little context. The ingredients used by Pho Vietz is imported from Vietnam every fortnight. So you can rest assured knowing that every ingredient used to prepare the dish you savour here comes directly from Vietnam. Alright, now we delve into the food.

Vietnamese Snack Delights

1. Vietnamese Spring Roll

Crispy yet crunchy on the outside with fillings stuffed to the edge, the spring rolls here are delectable especially when they’re paired with in-house fish sauce. The plus point of these spring rolls lies in the crushed peanut topping which creates a different taste but in a good way.

2. Tiger Prawn Roll

This next item certainly lives up to its name, Tiger Prawn Roll. You can literally see the tiger prawns wrapped up in thin rice paper skin. Among the greens used in this roll are iceberg lettuce, mint, carrot shreds and more. Accompanying this snack is the chilli peanut sauce topped with crunchy peanut crumbs.

3. Steamed Flat Rice Roll with Minced Pork

A staple breakfast dish among Vietnamese is this steamed flat rice roll. Some would say it resembles Malaysia’s Chee Cheong Fan due to its somewhat similar rice roll and fillings. The must do when savouring this snack is to dip into the in-house fish sauce that consists of lemon grass, sugar, and lemon juice. According to the owner of Pho Vietz, this snack is made upon customer’s order.

4. Famous Vietnamese Baguette

Ddi you guys know that Bánh mì originates from France and thus has a French history to it? This creation exists during French colonialism in the 19th Century. However, the Vietnamese Baguette differs from the French Baguette as the latter has a fuller bread texture to it.

Vietnamese Baguette, or its Vietnamese equivalent, Bánh mì is one that’s not to be missed. As seen in the picture, the baguette is fully sandwiched with marinated pork belly and pickled greens. Also, the baguette here is nothing less than crispy as you can hear it crackle upon your first bite.

Vietnamese Noodle Soup (Pho)

4 Beef Combo Noodle Soup

As true as its name, this broth noodle consists of 4 beef combinations namely Australian beef slices, beef shank, beef brisket as well as beef balls. So aside from the fragrant broth and smooth rice noodle that melts in your mouth, you also get top-notch, imported beef slices to complement the entire Pho experience. Pho-real, it’s Pho-nomenal, guys.

Vietnamese Pork-Rib Noodle Soup

If you can’t consume beef due to religion purposes, you can opt for the pork rib noodle soup. As pork ribs tend to enhance the flavour of the broth, this is a bowl of warm, comforting aromatic noodle soup. Also, fried pork lard is used as a garnish to further elevate the fragrant of this bowl of Pho.

Vietnamese Rice Set

Braised Pork Belly with Coconut Juice Set (Signature)

The signature item in Pho Vietz is the Braised Pork Belly with Coconut Juice Set. The pork belly has a tender consistency as it is braised for 3 hours and later on soaked in the signature gravy that has coconut juice added into it. Best combo when you pair it with white rice and fish sauce. Accompanying this dish is a plate of marinated greens and glass noodle that can neutralise the tastebuds. The recipe behind this signature dish is inherited from  a recipe dated back to the 1960s.

Caramel Sliced Pork Belly Set

The next rice set worth mentioning is the Caramel Sliced Pork Belly Set. All rice sets come with a bowl of rice, fish sauce, and side dish. This dish has a thicker gravy consistency compared to the one with coconut juice gravy and leans towards a more flavourful side. If you have bolder tastebuds, this dish is not to be missed.
