Lunabar is a new addition for Matcha and dessert lovers in Penang. This shop serves artisan desserts, cakes, ice cream & coffee at a relatively small yet Instagram-worthy setting. In a casual and somewhat close to nature interior design, it’s with great comfort to enjoy exquisite desserts without being restricted by the formal atmosphere of a cafe or restaurant otherwise.
Lunabar is located inside Moonshop. We were impressed by the simple yet pleasant exterior looking of Lunabar – Moonshop. You know you gonna enter a brand new world once you open the door.
We love the vibe here! Lots of plants and the atmosphere is so fresh and cool. The interior is sweet and pleasant, making guests feel like they have stepped into a little garden. At the same time, the decor is very simple, showing its down to earth and earnest character. Minimalist will appreciate the interior here. The only drawback here is it has limited space, not recommended for groups.
This is a very green entry. Matcha lovers will definitely enjoy the foods here. We ordered matcha latte (RM13) and matcha molten chocolate cake (RM15). The macha latte tasted so darn good! We love it. The cake’s ice cream tasted pure and fine, with subtle bitterness and fairly decent sweetness. The cake however was just an okay as it slightly overcooked.
Moonshop
On the other hands, Moonshop is a design lab specializing in Tropical ornamental plants and terrariums. They are also expert in botanical gifts for event or exhibition and indoor and outdoor landscape design.
The Forest in a Bottle is available for purchase. They are terrariums filled with tropical plant specimens in-closed in gorgeous clear glass bottles. Everyone is a welcome guests to here. It’s an open discussion concept with the owners, you are welcomed to share everything related to terrariums and plants.

Should you visit to Lunabar – Moonshop? A big yes! You can totally forgot about stress just for a bit when you’re in this cafe. Don’t forget to take a very nice #ootd picture in the cafe, the lighting is so good!
